Sony came out of a lot of accessories along with this release. The menu style and color (pink available). Thinking that this launch is stating that Sony marketing strategy for their entry level DSLRs has moved slightly to female users while the products look pleasant to male users too.

A smart move I would say. In terms of generating more profit and market share or the company.

Guess A700 and A900 will still holding the professional status for Sony DSLR.

Just some of my thoughts after reading the discussions on the Taiwanese Mobile01 forums.

actually, bro vibranze, I realise that the pop up flash of the A230 seems higher than even the Lumix, and it's like twice as high as the her predecessors.
Yeah, I just realized it too:)

If Sony integrate its HVL-F20AM into their new DSLRs then it's really cool... but too bad, it's just my imagination, lol.

Pentax for me is also a dark horse:) I like the rugged body.

I wonder why their EVF can achieve 0.9x magnification while having a LV as well, whereas for Sony only 0.83x.

in a sense i guess high pop-up flash is good? wun kena long barrels?
Higher is definitely better. I seldom use the A350 built-in flash because it usually cast lens shadow into my pictures.

I think the pop-up flash for a230/a330/a380 is definitely better existing a200/a300/350 design. They should have done it like that in the 1st place.

Anyway, I read somewhere the new flash is using double-AAA batteries. Amazing... I followed you and kent suggestion to get re-chargeable battery for my 42am flash. It comes with extra 2 AAA batteries as part of the package. Was wonder what I am going to do with it...

After I read about the new flash, I think it was a sign... Haha...
