i want to take picture in dim light, for example in my bathroom, without light turned on. I use manual mode, and i want to auto focus my camera on some object. But when i open flash, so af can use it, it also take picture using flash. How to enable focus in such conditions but without using flash during taking photo ? |

My understanding that this is the limitation for model A350 below. There isn't IR AF-assist, thus the Flash was used. I'm not sure if you can enable flash AF-Assist but do not take flash. Alternatively, manual focus will always be available. |

Use a torch and shine toward the point where you want to focus |

my inspiration, my journey...

what id do sumtyms is to focus on the object with the lights switched on. once focused id push the switch to MF mode so it stays that way then switch off the lights. mounted on tripod of course. depending what u wanna shoot and amount of light available, can use flash or longer exposure..and up the ISO a lil if ur trying to go for faster shutter speed.. |

Ya, not sure whether you raise built-in flash to illuminate AF, but not taking picture with flash. Or you can mount an external flash on it, without turning the flash on. Then you'll have AF illuminating light from external flash. |
