To setup the email trigger for your account:
Just go to preference, select "Email & Subscription Settings" and Topic/Forum subscription alert type as "Alerts by email"..

For thread tracking, you need to manually enable it for each thread. Once you're viewing a thread, scroll down to the bottom of the page. Locate the option "Track Topic" which appears to the left of the Board Time.

From the page that loads you can select the notification type you want.

Insurance coverage for camera gears

Yo bros,

Will be going to Paris this weekend. Intend to bring my best gear there ($7-8k worth) to capture some good shots. Want to buy insurance to cover my camera gear any suggestions on what to buy?

When i bought travel insurance the coverage was only up to $1K, even if going for the best package.
I guess it will have to be specific insurance, not the typical travel insurance.
Please do share when you have found it.

doubt there's a specific plan for camera gears. most travel insurance covers for accidents rather than equipment damage.

bought this plan for my HK trip last year.

so far i think liberty insurance offers the closest but look at their fine print, its full of conditions. paris is a safe city, i think most of us who've travelled hv brought that amount of gear (and more) along, so far so good. just avoid back alleys, sleazy parts of any town and you shd be ok. hv a safe trip! :)

I have a relative doing insurance asking me to get all my Gears 'Covered' . I do not know how it goes about but she did asked me whether do i still have all the receipts with me or not ... :ermm:
