Hi guys... Suddenly found myself with a bit of free time... Has been a crazy 6 months... All work... no shooting... With free time in my hands (not sure for how long...) my mind starts to wander again... Can the bros with A900 (or experience with it) help me out with these questions? 1. How are the old minolta lenses on the A900? I have collect quite a few... E.g. 28-70G, 85 F1.4, 24 F2.8, 100 F2.8 Macro... 2. How are other popular lenses (not sony) performing on the A900? |

Yes the old lenses work better on the A900 than the A700. Better pics, and micro adjustment helps. Can attest to it with my 85 F1.4. |

I remember ETTL demoing the addition width of the 28-70G on one of the threads... So its not true that the older minolta lenses (at least the good ones) fare poorly as compared to the CZ's? My main concern is that the older lenses are optimised for film and with the huge digital sensor, flaws tend to show... |

Indeed flaws are showing.....too many details from nose hair to a small thread on the clothing to PP off ![]() To think I'm just using Minolta lenses tat r design 20 years ago............. For 3rd party, do have Vivtar Series 1 19-35mm and Sigma 24-135mm. Both works better on A900 compare to 7D & A700. Edited by P.3, Jun 19 2009, 11:09 PM.

Can't answer #1 but from those that I have (but not frequently used), seems to be fine for #2, micro adjustment is needed for some old lenses. |
