Same here very itchy but pocket no money. To go to A900, need to buy lenses like CZ 24-70 & 70-200G SSM. My current lenses only fit the APS-C. Also need bigger harddisk space and more memory on my computer, another dry pak case, finding time & subject to shoot & the list goes on ..........

No need CZ lens. The minolta vintage lens do very well on the A900. Ultra wide got 17-35 f/2.8, mid got 28-70 f/2.8, longer got beercan. Its true that with the 37mb raw files, you probably need a core dual PC + 4GB ram + more harddisk space.

Slight correction, the CRAW files are only abt 20MB+ so no need for 35mm RAW files. It is true that my laptop CMI when processing the files, so I got a mac instead which performs admirably. When it comes to lenses, you can always use the one you have, there no compatibility issues at all (micro-adjustment addresses some focusing issues). Slowly move to CZ lenses and really only two that you'd look into in most cases - 24-70 (General zoom) and 85 OR 135mm for prime. Harddisk price is falling down fast. |

I used to buy and sell lenses when I was using my older camera - KM5D & A700.. After upgrading to A900, I've stopped that.. so, overall, I'm saving money with A900. The older Minolta lens works better on A900.. smooth creamy bokeh.
