I have a x2 TC. I tried it with my 80-200, I don't like the result. I tried with my 105mm F2.8 macro, worst! Now, its in my dry cabinet doing nothing. From my experience so far, I would avoid using TC as much as I can. |

Wow ... Minolta 300mm f4 G is a nice piece of glass ! And though at a stage i wanted to sell it away , i am glad i did not ! At first i always thought that i should be shooting at f4 most of the time and the results are somehow 'Quite Soft' , now i always shoot at f5.6 or f8 and images are sharp & bokeh are nice ! I love it ! I bought mine at ebay very expensive because someone else is alway 'Up-ping' me till the very last second ! But i am happy i won it !I had tried it with a 2x TC & find it slow unless you are good at using the MF . And all i can say 'Again' as everyone had mentioned here , especially 'Birder' , is 300mm is never enough for Birding ... Not to say 400mm or 600mm , too far for me to reach also ... My last piece of advise is , personally , i will say go get the Minolta 300mm f4 and shoot with it without any TC . Alternatively , get 400mm or 600mm ! Enjoy your BBB ! |
