Yes, you're right. Because currently the CMOS sensor has an edge over CCDs due to their lower noise, but if you look at pictures straight from the cam of a CMOS and a CCD, I think the pictures from a CCD cam is still nicer.

i have heard before that, CCD image is sharper than CMOS. Thats from their experience upgrading from A100 to A700. But personally, i have not seen that. So dunno how true isit.

From my experience. my opinion is CCD produces better image quality over CMOS thought CMOS produces lesser noise.

Makes no difference to me these days, both can shoot good very good quality pics. Think imaging chip technology has matured well enough to EXCEED what we actually need.

It all boils down to one thing, do we even need to talk about noise, or per pixel sharpness between CCD and CMOS - when most of us don't print in A1 or A0? :knock:

it the man that behind the photoshop/computer
having chance to play with the e420 and other brand
between the ccd, cmos and Lmos from panasonic,pentax/samsung
it possible to get better iq from cmos than ccd.
we just need to wait for better implementation of the technology

I guess the article was written sometime back.
Now CMOS shld have already surpassed CCD sensors already.
1 area is the noise.
CMOS much much superior in noise control than CCD.
