Day 6 CHINA Went to .... ![]() It was a long 11 hr-drive by our bus due to long stops for photo-ops. ![]() Mr Bus Driver (his Chinese name very difficult to remember), Andy (Singapore TRavel agent), Leo (China travel agent) Poor Leo had a mishap with his Nikon lens in the creek in Li jiang. ![]() First stop was the 3rd lowest gorge in the world - Tiger Leaping Gorge It was a long descent down by hundreds of steps. ![]() I was here. (Taken by Steven Yee with my cam) The route to Shangri-la was very scenic on the way up the mountains. Initially it was all dull gray & cloudy. Then God decided to give us a surprise by giving us just the right spotlight of sun. Patience does pay. It was an amazing sight. This is natural light with sun peering through the clouds in just the right spots. (Taken with minus 0.7 EV) ![]() Ended the day very tired as usual. This morning we went for a nice walk along the old town. LOts of photo ops and very scenic. Went to a monastery to see monks. ![]() Everyone who carries a cam is usually C or N. Then, Lo and Behold, I met a bro in Shangri-la ![]() A 900 + 70-400 mm Now time for rest and later we will do TFCD in a field of wild flowers. Edited by DOC, Sep 4 2009, 03:32 PM.

Day 7 CHINA Our second to the last day. Tomorrow we fly from Shangri-la to Kunming then to Singapore. Today was a long road trip. We went miles and miles of highway on the mountains just to get to this. ![]() Was it worth it? Yes it was. An awesome sight to see glaciers on the mountain. This is Snow Mountain in Shangri-la. ![]() Taken with SAL 70-200 Finally and sadly, my adventure here in China ends tomorrow. It was an amazing adventure with lots of captured moments. More than the place itself, it's the people that I met which made this travel worthwhile. ![]() And so my journey to China ends here. See you all back in Singapore. Hopefully I can finish my pictures and share them with you all. (Above pictures direct from cam) Thanks to all viewers of this thread. Thanks to bro soulexpress for the fisheye and 70-200. (Now I realized I need a long lens) |
