Agree with you that the collage behind can be distracting. The problem is that it is a studio setting and we were all shooting with f/5.6 to f/8 at 1/250, so its difficult to blur out the background. Lighting wise, we used 1 x soft box on right and a color gel spot light on the left.

Maybe I can try to isolate the subject better by burning off the slides a bit more. Try that later lor.

I like a lot of your pictures, including this set. Though, the only thing I don't understand is "fashion".

Willis say "trust your instinct"... That sounds like a Jedi master training young Jedi, but I still don't get it...

Thanks bro.

Fashion is just a style of clothing/accessory. Shooting fashion to me means, creating photographs that bring out the best of the clothing/accessory. To do this, you got to select the right model, location, right pose, lighting, etc. Everything should focus around and add to the particular clothing/accessory you are trying to sell. This is not easy and require quite a bit of planning. Most of us are just trying to do portraits. eg. Pretty subject + bokeh background, or leading line + pretty model, or colorful background + pretty model. Haha ....

Relying on your instinct is probably the way to start, but down the road, you need to know what you are doing.
