my inspiration, my journey...
really depends on how good ur handling is plus SSI turned on. those who are stable enough can hold and even pan with it. if not a tripod/monopod would be needed. most imptly, be comfortable with ur handling..
if you think you're good, remember, the best are still learning...

i am very happy with the 12-250
if you are shooting outdoors and in ok light (not good but not bad), the lens works well.
Does not hunt unless very dark.
Climbs up the max aperture quite quickly, slows down drastically after 5.6 (100+mm).
Its my travel lens
which lens (12-250) is that ?
i think it's the Sigma 12-24mm + 18-250mm so will give the range of 12-250mm lor.

Hi, how stable is it to shoot at 250mm zoom without a tripod?
If you are shooting outdoor with good lighting, the lens can be very useful and can be used w/o a tripod.

come to think of it... Sony should come up with a 10-200mm F2.8 G! Then I sell everything and just use this one lens... :photographers:

With good light, it's doable.

18-250 is slow at times and I missed quite a few moments. Its frustrating at times. But then again, I only need to bring one lens out when I go out. Its not that heavy and overall, I would say its value for money. When I travel, its 18-250 + 50mm prime lens. If you are non buying FF camera anytime soon in future, its worth investing.

16-105 gives you a better angle at 16, but the 105mm is not much higher than kit lens of 70mm, but you current model is 55mm thus may makes a difference for yourself.

=)

Conclusion, no regrets after I buy the 18-250mm
