My girlfriend eyes on Macbook long time already. I always stop her as I don't have any Macbook softwares (it costs lots if buying new collection of softwares for her laptop). Until today I found this software for Macbook virtualise Windows. https://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/ Who have this software and tried? My question is very simple, when I run this software (simulate Windows), all the softwares install on it can be "enabled" as how we do on PC Windows. Any different of the enable process, e.g. Windows use registry but this use Mac file system so my "enable" software won't work, etc. PS: You know what "enable" I mean, some people call these softwares "user firendly" version. Appreaciate if brothers who had experience can reply me by coming IT Show. Thanks!

These are known as virtual boxes/machines. To date there are VMware, Parallels and VirtualBox. I've tested and used all these. Good enough for me. But as these are considered "virtuals" it is not running on full hardware power. If there is a need to use the full hardware, you can use Bootcamp. With Bootcamp, it will allow u to dual boot to Windows or Mac. Regarding your question, if i get it correctly, let say u install windows on the virtual machine and its already running, and u install ms office for windows, the ms office will run within the virtual machine and leave ur mac apps untouch. U can also access ur mac folders from virtual machine. so if u screw up the windows on the virtual machine, ur mac will still be intact. For Bootcamp its a total different ball game. You will run the 2 OS separately. So if u load windows, you will be able to access the partition u set aside for it and unable to access the Mac partition. Difference between this option is tat u will be utilizing the hardware power. But after u use Mac, dun tink u wanna use Windows unless the software doesnt comes in Mac format ![]() Hope u get wat i'm trying to say ![]() Marah Edited by marah, Sep 9 2009, 11:20 AM.
