i was running 64bit windows 7 rc that time, before i switched back to XP due to the fact i cant play my games... xD

but it was fast. especially apps that support the 64 bit architecture. according to adobe website, 64 bit Vista is supported for photoshop, so i think windows 7 64 bit also supported?

Yes Window 7 64bit can support the same software as Vista 64bit.....and since i dun play games already (other than facebook :P ) processing speed and ram would be wat I'm looking for my new laptop :)

Window 7 64bit + 8gb DDR2 ram would be enough to last for 2 years as DDR3 takes over completely and offer lower pricing then.

Both PS CS4 & LR has 64bits version and they do run faster on the 64-bits OS.

For PS, if you using plug-in, you will have to check if they have the 64-bits version as well, if not then you will need to run the PS 32-bits version in the 64-bits OS.

There is no direct upgrade path moving from XP to Win7. Which means, you have to reinstall all programs you wanted to use after installing Win7. If you on Vista, there is a direct upgrade path to Win7.

According the online details, Window 7 32bit just need 1gb of ram with 64bit at 2gb of ram which are less demanding than Vista.
Bootup time and overall processing have decent improvement :) Will do the switch once i got mine from Sony next month.

For Vista to Window 7, u only need to buy upgrade disc which is @ US$119/- for 32bit according to rumour. However, XP to Window 7 need to get full installation.
