Finally upgrade my Window Vista 64bit to Window 7 64bit last week. The whole upgrade took @ 3-4hrs not including the updating of drivers after that. After using Window 7 for a week, indeed software runs more smoothly now and the interface/shortcut are neat and more useful. BUT bootup and shutdown time slow down by quite a fair bit which is kind of disappointing..........Would be trying CS4 soon, hopefully it's smooth enough compare to the laggy speed on Vista ![]() Overall, i hardly have any problem with my three editions of Vista Home 32bit, 64bit and Ultimate 32bit on my three Vaio and desktop so the currently Window 7 64bit was still quite disappointting so far. Best to do a fresh install than a upgrade even for VISTA users. Just buy the OEM version of Windows 7. About the same price as upgrade. Load my Office machines with Windows 7 64 bit. Even on 2 GB is fine. Load CS4 Trial with update 5.5. Can open A900 files with no problem. |

I plan to build new PC this month end and install Windows 7 64 bits also (will put 8GB RAM). I use PC for Dota as well. What games cannot play on Windows 7 64 bits? |

So far as i know, not many games are develop for 64bit OS yet....... So 32bit OS is still much for suitable for gaming currently ![]() As for Vista being unstable......never encounter to me even with the three difference edition i use since the jump from XP two years ago and Vista Home Edition 64bit really works well, smooth and fast. Guess I expect too much out of Window 7 ![]() BTW for those who do window upgrade from Vista to 7, do remember to do disk cleanup on system files once everything is in order ![]() Plenty of temp "upgrade file" hanging around. You can run 32bit apps on Win7 64bit. It has address emulation for 32bit apps so no worries when running 32bit titles. |
