I'm using a300 and only have the kit lens. Thinking of getting other lens. What type of lens are suitable for a300? Which are the brands i can look at? Thanks! |

50 1.8 ?? i think that is a good an affordable lens to couple with the a300, though i myself am using the sigma 30 1.4 which became my walk-about lens on my a300.. it all depends on what you are actually shooting and preferences too also... cheers! |

You need to shoot more to know what are the lenses are for you. Different people have their own style of shooting. Some people like to use wide lenses to shoot 1 subject while others like to use super telezoom to shoot the similar subject. |

Are you thinking only? Or is there something in the kit lens you feel inadequate, making you think of getting other lens? Not long enough? Not wide enough? Perhaps you can share about that? It is difficult to advise unless we truly know what you like to shoot, what you "need", and how much you willing to spend on. |

newbie forever ...

Shoot first with the kit lens lah. If you have money to spare, get the used Sony or sought-after Minolta ones. At least if you feel they don't suit your shooting style after a while, can still sell back in the B & S market. Price hardly drop much as compared to getting a new Sony lens. Newbies mah ... test water first before diving into the abyss. |
