No doubt 28-135 is a great lens... however, personally I think it is good if minimum focus distance is not a problem such as for landscape and stuff. In all honesty, CZ 24-70 is more practical. Yes, Minolta do produce some of nicest lenses but unfortunately, those will become history sooner or later. |

As to today technology many material could be replace easily as the composite material are far more better than those days,so if sony would like to manufacture the best lens for the support of theirs products it would be an added advantage. Why not? |

The worry is whether Sony have all the right to all the lenses products produce from Minolta Era.It could be only some of the lenses copy right. |

I have the 35mm f/2 (via Ebay) and I agree with the results of the review And the lens is also small and light. the 28-135mm is great too but the min focusing distance(1.2m) is too long for my taste and no hood (lots of flare in certain situations). Do remember Minolta used to help Leica to produce lenses and slrs. Dun even want to mention their Rokkors......

Finally lay my hands on another old lens, the Cosina 100mm F3.5 Macro. Even thou mine dun have the macro adapter, the price, weight and IQ of the lens edge over latest lenses IMO. Next target would be a Sigma ulra wide-angle.....miss it last month, so hard to find it
