Hi guys,

Been shooting portraits for a a year or so, I thought it would be nice if I compile some of these for easy access. A lot of these shoots were ALPHA shoots by Willis, Eow, Billycane and Richard, others are by Ivan See of modelinn.

In my earlier shoots, I started with B/W and focused on capturing the feel. Subsequently, I went into color and framing. Lighting wise, I always prefer natural light and reflectors. Currently, I am now experimenting with flash + softboxes.

1. Sindy (Willis)
I think this is my first photo shoot ever. Shot mostly B/W, coz not good at color shots. This shot really looks very different from all my other shots - Feels like shes cornered by paparazzi. :D

2. Ivy (Willis)
- Shot mostly B/W again. Ivy is quite versatile, she can switch from elegant/demure to sexy / electrifying.
a. Sexy

b. Demure

3. Jolene (Willis)
- A XMM haha.... not Willis's usual model choices. Like the pose and shot angle for this one.
Posted Image

4. Flora (Willis)
- Did not get many nice shots for Flora. Like the elegance / feel of this one.
Posted Image

5. Natsuko (Billycane)
- Something different - a pretty Japanese model. Jumped at this one and did not regret it. Natsuko was elegant and sweet, and it shows in the pictures. :)

7. Linda (Eow)
- My first shoot by Eow. Beautiful model and she looks great in a black dress. :)
a. Elegant and sexy
Posted Image

b. The glare
Posted Image

8. Charlotte aka 'Angelina Jolie' (Eow)
- This was shot in OCH (brrrrr) and bedok jetty? Charlotte is a dead ringer for Angelina Jolie IMHO.
a. Bohemian in the meadows
Posted Image

b. I look like AJ
Posted Image

c. The bokehed grass make an interesting BG. Didn't realise this till later.

More to come....

Thanks bro!

Next is my shoots with Modelinn. Quite an experience shooting with Ivan. Firstly, the lighting is already provided -2 pratas for daytime. Secondly, he adds wind element by using a fan. Thirdly, his models are va va voom...top notch. All the photographer needs to do is to get the angle and framing right and just focus on capturing the 'moment'.

9. Aline (Modelinn)
- My first modelinn shoot. Kudos to Ivan for bringing in quality models and his reflector setup.

Next phase - Concept shoots by Willis.

12. Hanli & ??? (Willis) - the fashion challenge
- Really stressful session this is. Willis gave us a few fashion magazines and wanted us to conjure up our fashion concept, brief the model and shoot them!! All in 2-3hrs! In the end I was fortunate to get something out of it.

a. My first theme - Red light district. :ermm: Shot this with a wireless flash + red gel on the left
Posted Image

b. Stole this shot while ETTL and Clem were busying posing her. Like the mixing of the different colored lights. Haha
Posted Image

c. My 2nd theme - Masks and Fans
Posted Image

13. Stella (Willis) - the wild thing
- The fashion concept is by Kok Yong this time round. Good job bro! Used off-camera flash for all the shots.

a. Stella - Queen of the jungle?
Posted Image

b. Love how the color blended for b & c
Posted Image

c.

d. Love Stella's expression

14. Jeannie (Willis) - the Austrian

a. Nice feel to this one
Posted Image

b. Ditto

15. Seluna (Willis) - the Columbian goddess
- For this shoot I used wired flash + softbox + ND filter to get this effect in the daytime. Great method to isolate subject.

a. Love the expression and pose for this one. Flash is on the left and firing downwards.
Posted Image

b. She got such an intense gaze. Off camera Flash is on the right side this time.
Posted Image

c. Need a stronger flash....argg.
Posted Image

d. Love this close up picture. Looks like one of those Revlon ads. The MUA Charlene G. did a great job.
