one advise, Always travel light. 1 body + 1 lens + 2 batts + ur camera bag. Tripod depends. i brought it for my london trip, but only used once. So careful planning is required. |

Bangkok, street photography.. Body + wide. Your setup is ok ![]() Tripod depends on your itinerary where you get to shoot sunrise or sunset. Otherwise it is not worth carrying around. Hardly use. At night, street shoot use 50 1.8. Otherwise I suggest, enjoy your travel, eating and shopping.. rather than lugging a tripod around. Plan for temples, royal palace, boat cruise, visit river market, and chaktuchak market. If got 1 day free, rent a car+driver, drive up to Ayutthaya for whole day shoot. edit: oh yes, as mentioned by some bros, make sure you have enough extra batteries and memory... critical : extra batteries and memory card lens: bring what you think you need and what you willing to carry around for a whole day (consider the weight and you able to swap lens as and when you wanted to and the environment where you will be changing your lens) tripod: Don't bother unless you going to shoot lots of long exposure shot and the tripod is really compact and light. If not sure bring along if luggage space permit and bring along on those day when you think you need it. bring along blower for night maintenance duty. useful and hopefully can blow off dust sensor you have accumulated during the day shoot. |

HEY GUYS ! thank you so much for your valuable advice ! i'm travelling with my gf so thought a tripod will help to take photos of both of us instead of asking ppl to take photos for us. if i bring my tripod along, how do u guys suggest i carry? one camera bag, 1 bag to put tripod? omg. damn bulky think i'll just bring along and leave it in the hotel if i dont need it. maybe i'll get a bigger camera bag, any advise on where i can get cheap and nice one? the sony one too small for 2 lens. lastly, should i get original battery or 3rd party battery will do? thanks to all once again ! You can always put the tripod in the check in luggage if you have any. Otherwise, you can consider getting a tripod bag. |

For bags can try TK Foto .... http://www.tkfoto.com.sg/ . Look under accessories. For battery, good to get the original. Check out pricing at our popular shop, MS, CP or OP. If you can access power plug for charging, just get one more battery will do. 1 battery usually can last 1 day shooting and just swap battery at night for charging and bring along on the next day. |

all the more u shouldn't take ur tripod.. would u rather spend the energy carry the tripod ard or hold your gf's hands? there's an Auto mode for you to ask pple to take for you. =) For camera bag, i like lowepro fastpack200 bag, enuff for 2/3 lenses (can't fit white monster, but but.. why would u take white monster for a trip with ur gf? )it has compartment for you to put stuffs on top too. fastpack250 has compartment for laptop, if u need, otherwise can stuffs maps, etc. original battery is recommended.. not sure if 3rd party batt supports infolithium. Take whatever that you are comfortable with, it's not a photography trip right? it's the company that matters, not the photos... taking good photos is just a positive externalities of gg on a trip. =) |
