yes it will be f8.. the guy at cp said it will af.. he even show me the teleconverter's description said that when the original lens is f4 or bigger, the af will work.. but still havent tried it myself..

well, i would suggest you to bring down ur lens and camera to try it out before buying it. Are you getting Sony Teleconverter or 3rd party? |

i've tried a 2xTC(Tamron) with the beercan, the sharpness is acceptable for me, AF 'might' slow down at the tele end(420mm) |

I've used a 1.7x TC with a beercan before, its so-so. Quality is almost the same as cropping without tc. AF will be damn slow also. You can try and see. Make sure you look at the image quality closely. I think that the only use for it will be to take very still pictures like the moon. |

Hi, used before feel that is better to do without Tc, if really necessary use only 1.4 tele converter ,the picture wouldn't be to soft,focusing will be slightly faster than 2 X tele and use prime lens is the best.

Minolta & SONY TC cannot be used on the beercan. You will not be able to mount it. IQ wise in general, the 2xTC degrade more than the 1.4xTC. |
