Hi all, I'm just a DSLR beginner, but i'm willing to help out in any photography events. My objective is just to take more pics and learn along the way, and also to full make use of my DSLR. This is just a hobby, not a rice bowl to me, but I'm serious about learning photography and a responsible person. Currently i'm using A330 with kit lens and simple tripod. any one who needs assistant photographer to help out, let me know. I'm not charging any fees. so it means FOC help. i dun mind receiving small transport fees though.

Hi Welcome to alphadslr! The first step to learning is to keep shooting as you have pointed out ![]() These days event photography is very competitive, I think it may be difficult to find a photographer that willing to coach you while doing the job. My suggestion would be that you join group outing organised by fellow members and learn from each other. If there is no outing, you start one with clear objective (what, where and when to shoot). Not sure which level are you at now. But it will be good to learn the basics for dslr photography like - understanding the relationship of shutter speed/aperture/iso to exposure; - composition and framing; - post processing; Forum Talk (newbie corner, Camera care, digital darkroom, photography skills discussion) area have lots of useful info eg. Digital Photography Tips Useful Ink compilations for newbies If you have doubt, post your picture in gallery and ask the question, there are many helpful folks here. Or ask on other's picture. That is one of the best way to learn. |

One way to do event FOC is to help out if someone invited you for birthday, party, wedding. Ask the host if they mind you take picture for your own fun and practise. |
