Well, actually no. The sample pic I showed you was just a sample. THAT one was focused as you say. But the 3 merged shots were not focused. I switched the lens (50mm f1.8, by the way) to manual focus and just shifted the focus ring further out towards infinity to blur the lights. But there was no point of focus, per se. That's why I called it "gratuitous"! Cheers, Ben |

A couple of takes from my first go using creative filters this morning at Labrador Park. My first impression is that I love using these filters! The first photo (#35) is using three filters stacked (GND, ND4 and Brown); a bit of overkill, perhaps, but if you don't try you'll never know, eh! The second phot (#36) is a slightly different composition and is based on a photo (see: http://is.gd/8Dk3f) using GND and Brown filters, however I converted it to B&W, which I think looks pretty handsome ![]() I have a confession. When shooting, I completely forgot to check the control dial until later and realised I was shooting many photos on Aperture-priority mode. I wonder how it would have changed things were I on "P" or another mode. Well, there's always another day! (37) Birds on a wire (shot date: 19 Feb, post date: 20 Feb) ![]() Original photo (Sony A200, 50mm, f4.0, 1/250 sec, ISO 100) This is quite a close crop from a much bigger scene, so the clarity is lost somewhat. * * * * * * * * * * * Edited by benruane, Feb 21 2010, 12:15 AM.
