hi all,

finally pulled the trigger and bought the sigma 70-300 OS. and after taking both the 18-250 & the 70-300 out for a few trips, i'm kind of realized that for birding, i'm usually at the longest end of the lens... looks like it make sense to just get the 300mm prime for the purpose of birding (self poison :P )

anyways... some recent bird shots from a lake park.

nice series. we get to see some american birds. there is always flexibility when taking bif with a zoom.....
18-250 seem pretty good as compared with the 70-300.
#2 my favourite type of shot!! :thumbsup1:
however it's good to BBB as well so the sony 500f4 coming out soon will be great for you.

thanks! these are birds are pretty common here. havent really ventured deeper into the woods yet.
i'm actually very happy with the 18-250 but wanted to try out the 70-300 and have a feel before really investing into something. in fact, i am quite happy with the sigma 70-300. size wise its pretty handy.
for #2, i was caught off guard. the fellow decided to catch a fish as i was moving in... didnt have much time to react, so just raised the cam and snap 2 shots. the next thing is it became aware of my presence and took off... chased it for the next 30mins... but no more action :(
trying very hard not to bbb too much now. will wait till september... when my younger son starts to attend school
