hi goldie9009, btw are you robert?

my setup a550,

i currently use the following :

minolta 200mmf2.8 (handheld),
300mmf4(tripod and handheld) and
400mmf4.5 (tripod),
sony 1.4tc
rarely sigma500mmf4.5.....too heavy and have to shoot f9-11 for a decent shot, better with 400mmf4.5 with 1.4tc combo = 560mmf6.3 because it is llighter and have better image quality IMO.

distance for:

200mmf2.8 distance limiter to 5-6m, above that.....pic is too small to crop. good pics at 3-4m away. so got to get close.

300mmf4..still fiddling to get the best out of it....best range is 4-7m so far.

400mmf4.5 distance limiter to about 10m

1.4tc use
with 200mmf2.8 to shoot bif's
with 400mmf4.5 to shoot waders etc that are very far away ie. maximum reach.
so far poor performance with 300mmf4 due to plenty CA that is difficult to control. i probably haven't found the sweet spot yet. :D

of course, 600mmf4 is the best!!!!!!!!!!!BBBBBBBBBBBBBB
hope this helps.
