Hi dave if u are going into full frame buy 24-70mm f 2.8 and u will never look back again. But for 16-80mm there are limitation especially the f is to small under low light. If not go for the 24-75 sony G lens f 2.8 is much cheaper. :thumbsup1:
A550 high ISo -low noise use 1680 is ok. Only bokeh not much :) cheap bokeh use 50mmf1.8 loh :). my 0.1 cent
Dono it is me don't really like High ISO the color somehow look a little off,may be is me.As F 4.5 is a set back bokeh wise already mention, the price for the 16-80mm is not really appealing,16-80mm distortton cannot be better that 24-70mm.CZ. :D

Good choice. On your A550, this is best walk about or common use range.
The distortion mention is the slight curvature distortion at 16mm on the cornors. But hardly notice.
It is light and small enough to carry around.
As mention a Zeiss is a Zeiss. A picture means a thousands word.
Picture produce will take your breath away regardless good light or bad light
No regards buying this.
If you want to fully use the lens, you can contact me.
It is okay to be slow, as long you never stop.
