Tks to ETTL for the chop chop MO of the A55. I got one today, and did a few test shots just outside my place. The objective of this test was just to see the capabilities of the A55 itself. All photos were taken straight out from the camera without any post-processing, except for resizing. Two photos from my aged A350 are also posted up here for comparison. Hopefully, this would give a good gauge for beginners who're looking out for a cheap and good camera. ALL of the advanced features such as Twilight mode, Pano Sweep, Multi-Frame, and HDR produces only JPEG (for obvious reasons). So for those of us who like to shoot in RAW, you won't benefit from these features. Conditions and Variables: - ALL shots were handheld. - ISO was controlled by me. - Aperture was fixed at F3.5 throughout. - Camera was in Aperture-priority mode. - Lens: Sony DT16105 - No flash Conclusion: - Compared to the traditional DSLR, Multi-Frame mode works great! Photos look better and have better exposure range. - Multi-Frame and HDR(Auto) seems to produce vastly similar results, with a small exception that HDR(A) controls the brightest and darkest regions better. The Multi-Frame mode allowed the bright portions to be white-washed. - No need fast lenses anymore! Use high ISO with Multi-Frame on A55 can liao.. haha! ![]() [A55 @ ISO 1600 @ Multi-Frame] ...............................................................................................................
