Strange thing is, SONY Alpha is not the first DSLR with video and you don't hear this problem being discussed widely with other brand video DSLR even though it's there. Now when SONY Alpha has video this problem is widely discussed and SONY being criticized on it, even though their video limit is the same or better than other brand video DSLR. Does this means, SONY has captured more market share ?

i never use burst . . just normal shooting .. got one time i bring it out on hot day ~ 2pm .. use a while then over heat ..

if you keep the switch on, and the LCD/EVF is still displaying images, that means the sensor is still working. so it might still overheat even if you're not shooting much.. plus it was a hot day as you said :P

even i would overheat and lie on the ground unable to move.

I'm not condemning a33, I just reflect my problem with a33 as the topic stated. I'm not sure if sony are reading this, if yes pls improve on this...

other than that if anyone like to know somethign good about a33 & sal1680z .. I bring it out on pouring rain with sal1680z couple of occasions (no plastic bag or any protection, one occasion in the rain for 3 hours).. soak in rain and still working... now still perfectly working .. good as new

other than the heat problem .. its a fine camera for taking picture in the air-com room

hmm. better to tell the techies this or else, they might just discount your issue. and send your lens for checking as well.

there's a reason why people cover their cameras with wet-weather protection.

btw, your A33 still has holes around, especially the microphone openings. water could have seeped through.

i get caught in the pouring rain that time .. so bo bian .. wet .. let it be ..

but I found it quite ok to work in the rain . .its good as new ... i've cleaned & checked them all and using it everyday and now .. it has nothing to do with the overheat problem (ya i know the service guy will give tone of reason to reject me) ..
lens will depend .. my old tamron lens get fogged after the rain (but its ok, its quite easy to service it)

but need to clean it up after reaching home .. every seal and button need to be blown to get the water out .. i remembered I spent ~2 hours++ just to get the body & lens dry

thanks

*sry i think i click the report wrongly just now .. no wonder the reply does not pop up :banghead:
