A55 for Studio use

I was wondering if anyone had tried to use the A55 in a studio situation. I was doing a studio shoot and i tried to use the A55, after setting to like F8 and 1/125 shutter, the EVF turned totally black because it gives u a preview of the output making it impossible to focus. Only way to make the screen brighter was to pop out the onboard flash. But that will affect the lighting effect.

I read at DPreview that some had encountered this issue, so i wonder if any Bros had this issue and is there anyway to overcome this, or maybe this will be fixed in some firmware updates?

Pop out the flash but cover it so it doesn't affect the desired lighting effect.

Is a known problem. The A55 did not detect any external flash trigger hence it's showing the actual ambient light exposure only. SONY need to fix it via firmware to allow user to select display mode.
