Here is the Newbies thread: http://s11.zetaboards.com/Alphamount_Singapore/topic/7012124/1/ There is a whole section about Flash in it. ![]() In a nutshell, here is something about the current set of Accessory flash equipment: F20AM - Is something that is like your popup flash but only slightly higher and slightly more powerful, a good addition for Camera models like the A850 or A900, which do not feature a built in flash, and enables wireless controlling in those models. F42AM - Smaller Accessory flash that supports Bouncing flash, and wireless flashing. F58AM - The Larger Accessory flash that supports all the above, including multi flashing and wireless flash control/ratio flashing, much more sophisticated, and supports external 325v high voltage power supply/generator for rapid recharging. The money saving mindset is to save a little money, and get the F42AM, though my recommendation is that you get the F58AM, which is not that expensive, especially if you consider the cost prices of an equivalent Accessory Flash Gun from Canon and Nikon. The thinking is that the higher power output from the F58AM allows you more reach, and allows you to work easier should you want to bounce your flashes in places like ball rooms and expo halls with very high ceilings, and allow you maintain more flash power output if and when you use flash accessories and modifiers. |
