Once you set APS Sized Capt off, it would use the full 24mm sensor, regardless of the lens you put on. However, some APSC lens seems to be able to work with just fine without vignette. I think this may have something to do with the lens construction. |

Hi Lenrek, I've tried that out the other day and it only works for non-Sony lenses as for Sony lenses will transmit the information that it is a DT lens and hence the camera will crop. For lenses from third party brands, even if it is a DT lens, it is not cropped on A850/A900 because it seems like that information is not transmitted. Thanks again! |

Shouldn't be. The view finder is optic or glass, so if no vignette, then no vignette. You see what you get. I suspect it has something to do with some of the crop lens construction that able to fully use FF sensor, even when the picture perspective is base on crop lens. |

Oh I think you misunderstood what I wrote. What I meant is that, nothing happens to your OVF, you will still see vignette in the 98%/100% glory of your A850/A900 when you connect a Sony DT lens. It is just that when the picture is shot, it is automatically cropped to APS-C size, i.e. 12 (or is it 11?) megapixels, despite whether the the APS Capt option is on or off. Its kinda sad actually, I was hoping to cheap out and use my Sony 35mm F1.8 on the A850 as it actually doesn't vignette too much. |

The A850 with Version 2 firmware: will not show APS-C mode turn on auto when DT lens is attached, but it is already in APS-C cropped mode- serious. Do take note. |

yes... haha. i've tried switching off APS-C capture but it doesn't appear to work. but like what bro chiacj said, just unmount the lens. and trial and error with the shutter speed. the aperture size will also vary according to how much you turn the lens. just make sure you don't fully unmount..and then you'll be paying for lens repairs haha and you'll get a very nice F1 in the EXIF... to stun everyone |
