Irritating you with my awesome blinking avatar!

nice to see you there! Sorry if I didn't say hi, not too sure who is who. Heh.

#1 If you are trying to freeze motion, shutter speed seems to be insufficient. Need to ramp up some more. Also, there's a bit too much blank space below the car. Keep the car in the lower half of the image a bit more and it will look a bit more pleasing.

#2 Was the focus on the cameraman on purpose? Also, watch your tilt, it is slightly inclined.

#3 Good moment, but again shutter speed doesn't seem to be enough.

#4 Another good moment, composition is ok for me.

Good try for your first attempt! Keep up the good work!

Aimevous, thanks for your comments and advice. The main issue with my shoots is shutter speed. i guess really have to employ monopod to take these shots. Anyway, you nearly bang into me when you take the panning shot of one of the cars. :-)

Once again, thanks for your comments and advice. These will definitely help me for future shoots.

But sometimes monopod won't help, i've tried to pan with shutter speed of 1/30, but at the end i've remove the monopod, and all round handheld... It's better to handheld your cam while panning sometimes for flexibility, but it's very subjective to everyone else...

For the 4 photos i've seen above, none of the shots require a monopod as you don't pan to get the shots above. You'll just need to practice on focusing lock (#1, #2 *Don't know whether you do it purposely to focus on the photographer or else*) & shutter control for still shots (#3).

robinc2005, loved your photos on the other thread, especially the shot with the sparkling headlight. The shots i took are from a distance away so i maxed out my zoom and causes shaky shots, so i thought monopod would be good. Also i have to crop almost all photos, #5 was one of the lucky shot that didn't crop much. I agreed that panning should use handheld method for flexibility for distance shooting, some stability is needed due to my low shutter speed and shaky hands. :-)
