Once again, we are holding our annual celebrations/get-together to celebrate another good year for the local Sony Alpha user community. There will be fun and games and many activities that will interest you! It's just a few days more! Are you guys ready for Alpha 4!? Date: 11/09/2011 Meeting Place: Raffles Place (somewhere near Coffee Club, in front of One Raffles Place) Time: 8:30am You should see a couple of us in Alpha Polo tees. You shouldn't be able to miss us. If you are not attending the morning event, kindly fill in your name here. Also, if you have ordered the Adidas Polo Tee, you may collect it during registration. If you have ordered the Intexco version, it is unfortunately not yet ready. Do refer to this thread for more info. Full Day Itinerary 08:30 Gathering at Raffles Place for registration and collection of T Shirts (Adidas Only). 09:00 Briefing for Competition 14:00 Meet at and submit photos at RSYC 15:00 Cut off for Photo submission 15:00 Sharing Session by Rashkae/Mike 15:30 Team Presentations 17:30 Model Shoot 19:30 Dinner Time! 20:00 Cake cutting and group photo 21:00 Home Sweet Home! Main Venue: Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC) Location of RSYC: http://g.co/maps/rsf7g Google maps will be able to give you directions to RSYC from wherever you may be. Please be informed that there is no direct public bus to RSYC, the nearer MRT is Clementi and you have to either drive or share a cab to go there. Info about the Photography Competition Teams All of you will be split randomly into teams of 5. For those with spouses and boy/girl-friends, I'll try my best to put them together in the same team. However, other than these special cases I will try and mix you guys up as much as possible. The aim is to let everyone get to know everyone else better, as well as a chance for the veterans to get to know the newbies and vice versa! The teams will be revealed during registration. No unofficial team changes allowed! Prizes are only awarded to the "official" members of winning team! Themes There will be 5 themes for the competitions and each team will have to produce 5 photographs (1 for each theme) for judging. The themes will be announced in the morning and the teams are free to go around anywhere in Singapore to prepare that 5 photographs. Each theme is actually related to some photography technique/concept but can be interpreted as creatively as each team wants but they will have to be able to convince the judges during the teams presentation session. Submission Please return to RSYC latest by 2:30pm, but not before 1:00pm. Photographs to be submitted are to be in JPG format, straight out of camera. No external post processing required/allowed. There will be laptops in the RSYC function room manned by the committee members. Please submit your photographs to us before the cut off time of 3pm so we do not drag other activities down. Please rename your photographs during the submission in the format [TeamName]-[ThemeNo].jpg to facilitate the judging process. Example photo for Theme 3 by Team B will be B-3.jpg. We will be there to assist you should there be any problems. Judging Each team will have 5 minutes each to talk about their 5 chosen photographs. The speaker will have to describe 1. How they shot this photograph. Some technical details will be appreciated e.g. Natural Lighting/Off camera lighting at 45 degree/slow shutter at 2s/I chose F11 but not f16 because I wanted more dof but not too much... etc. 2. How does this describe or relate to the given theme. It is up to the team's discretion to have 1 speaker for all 5 photos or 1 speaker for each photo.
