Angelfish are beautiful and elegant fish. This one is a French Angelfish. Some species will approach people, if they're still enough. |

Angelfish really do have that angelic look to them with their graceful movements. Would be nice just to watch one swim by calmly and the fact that some can approach humans is pretty neat as a whole. |

They're amazing fish. They also have a spine on their gill cover. That's how you can differentiate them from butterflyfish. |

That's a beautiful fish. However, it is a butterflyfish. They're easily confused. But butterflyfish don't have a spine on their gill cover. (See above photo, it's the yellow "spike" near the mouth). |

Oh whoops. ![]() But yes, I guess I can see why they're so easily confused now. Definitely very similar appearances aside from that spine. |
