Wow, that is both a strange and cute little croc. Almost looks mammalian. ![]() It's really cool just seeing them all. XD Really shows how diverse the crocodiles used to be from different families. |

Yeah, they had an amazing diversity. That one possibly galloped, like the modern freshwater crocodile. |

Wow, that's very interesting. Just seeing the diversity of these ancient crocodiles make me curious. Galloping too? It does look like it has the capability of doing so. XD |

Prehistoric reptiles are just as fascinating as modern reptiles, if not more fascinating. Various crocodylomorphs had strange heads and body shapes. Description: "Collage of Pan-Crocodylians. Clockwise from top right: English: Gavialis gangeticus, a crocodilian from Southeast Asia English: Saurosuchus galilei, a rauisuchian from the Late Triassic of Argentina English: Litargosuchus leptorhynchus, sphenosuchian crocodylomorph from the Early Jurassic of South Africa English: Chenanisuchus lateroculi, a short-snouted dyrosaurid crocodylomorph from the Late Paleocene of Morocco English: Dakosaurus maximus, a metriorhynchid from the Late Jurassic of Western Europe English: Longosuchus meani, an aetosaur from the Late Triassic of North America" |

Dang, that's an amazing collection of them! ![]() The snouts of ones such as Saurosuchus galilei are impressive while others such as Dakosaurus maximus just look awesome with their thin limbs and more agile appearance! Really is amazing to see all the differences they've had physically - they must have all lived in very different ways and conditions. |
