Oak trees are beautiful and amazing trees. Some are deciduous and some are evergreen, such as the live oaks. Live oaks can live up to 600 years. They are divided into two major groups: -Red or black oaks, which have bitter, yellow and usually inedible acorns -White oaks, which have white and relatively sweet, edible acorns Also, their wood is very beautiful too. Here's a cross section of a Cork oak (Q. suber): |

Oaks sure are amazing and their lifespans are massive indeed. Imagine the amount of organisms from different generations that must have interacted with just a single oak tree with the length of a lifespan!The wood they have is beautiful indeed. It looks so complex; yet, so interesting to look at. |
