I thought I didn't like A Passage To India, but pictures from it kept coming into my head for ages. But for the past year, I've been stuck in Patrick O'Brian's novels: Captain Aubrey and Dr Maturin, with the British navy in transition as an extra character -- and a determination to ignore the damn Master and Commander movie, because how could it possibly live up to the books? |
