Last weekend I was at a Sam's Club, and I bout a 3DVD set of Sharpe's #Five. It has the Movies Sharpe's Justice, Waterloo , and The Legend of Sharpe. THe movies are aresome, and I think I'm developing a man crush on Sean Bean. :o

Waterloo was probally my favorite, with The Legend of Sharpe as close second. Its one of Sharpe's former Riflemen, reminessing about Sharpe.

I watched Amadeus tonight, breathtaking film.

Enjoyed Inception, blubbed unashamedly through Toy Story 3, but otherwise, not that many films out at the moment that I particularly want to see. I'm intrigued to see how For Colored Girls... turns out.

I watched Kick Ass a couple nights ago. It was actually a pretty decent movie. Thinking about going to see Despicable Me.

Go see Despicable Me, it's great. I keep saying "I want a minion". I also did a considerable amount of blubbering during Toy Story 3.

I also did a considerable amount of blubbering during Toy Story 3.

I was a not-crying grown-up (or a decent representation of one) for most of the movie, but I completely fell apart towards the end. Such a good movie - and I loved the callbacks to some of the earlier movies, too. Like the opening scene animating Andy playing with all of the toys? I'm pretty sure they showed him zooming and swooping the toys around, playing that same scenario out in 1 or 2.

I highly recommend Toy Story 3. Although the 3D is mostly unnecessary, IMO.

Toy Story 3 was just amazing. The beginning sequence with the train was hilarious.

Well it looks like I need to go see TS3 then. That is if the hurricane doesn't get me first.

Watched The Man Who Fell To Earth a few weeks back. There's a independent movie store in town that I've just discovered so I went hog-wild on sci-fi movies and other things that piqued my interest. Dune is always good to me, Krull was just awful, Event Horizon was solid, but with some holes. Altered States was quite amazing, actually, but the ending ruined the trip for me. Quatermass and the Pit was a surprising gem.

I also broke down and watched an A&E movie of Poirot. David Suchet is impeccable, but I was annoyed that they just hired Americans to play British. Some of the actors couldn't even keep their accent right. I suppose that's what I get for expecting something good out of a made-for-tv movie.

While talking about sci-fi, Lexx is probably my favorite series, next to the original Hitchhiker's Guide series of course.

Event Horizon was one demented movie. I don't usually go for sci-fi/horror flicks anyway, but still, argh. I really have to watch Amadeus again; for some reason, it's always stricken me as pure hilarity, and not just from watching the Fruit of the Loom guy plot against Mozart. Apart from that, precious little interest in the Toy Story franchise. The first movie was OK, but I personally liked A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo better.

The premise of Event Horizon was one of the reasons I found the movie really compelling; sort of like The Exorcist meets Alien, but the pacing was much too quick and the Dr. Weir character was never really explained... sort of a diabolis ex machina, and the resolution of the film was too quick, too choppy.

I'd forgot what a good movie A Bug's Life was. Probably because I was 13 or something when I saw it.

Even if it's not one of their more successful one it's still a Pixar.

Of the HHG? Yes, I think it's the only tv series that they've made for it, outside of the radio series which used virtually the same cast. It was pretty faithfully done since Douglas Adams was the one working on the series.

Speaking of which, has anyone read the "new" HHG book "And Another Thing."? I haven't but I've heard it's just terrible.

I may be in the minority here, but I preferred A Bug's Life to Cars.

Probably because Cars was essentially a duplicate of Doc Hollywood - just with cars instead of people. And while Cars is fun, I preferred the Michael J Fox version myself.
