My sister introduced me to Old Crow Medicine Show. If you like old time string band music it's pretty good. |

Yep, my friend was talking bollocks about Tim Minchin, sorry about that. And yes, OCMS put on a good show. Made some good recent discoveries: Röyksopp's new album, Junior Air's Love 2 - major return to form Band of Horses, Cease to Begin Gui Boratto, Take My Breath Away Girls, Album ("Lust for Life" is, sadly, not an Iggy Pop cover, but still pretty good) Saw Yo La Tengo at the Roundhouse on Sunday (with my dad, rock and roll) and they were good, though a lot louder than I'd expected: I didn't really associate them with Sonic Youth-esque solos/Fugazi-esque guitar destruction. Lovely acoustic version of "Tom Courtenay". |

Just bought Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Beethovan's Last Night, and I have to say I really like it. Like Schroder, Ludwig von Beethovan is my favorite classical artist, and I've always enjoyed TSO's fusion of rock with classical music. Now I'm going to have to try and see their performence live.

I think this is my favorite album by them.
Do it. I saw them a few years ago, and even though we had crappy seats, it was well worth the cost. |
