I just got a DVD box set for fifteen quid that includes Airplane, the Naked Gun films and, joy of joys: Police Squad!

It's great watching Leslie Neilsen in the early stages of his career as a comic actor. I can almost almost block out the godawful dross he churned out later...

And speaking of the joy of Neilsen doing comedy well, I just watched a Due South episode where he played a flatulent Mountie. Trust me, it's much better than it sounds (and DS is a much under-rated show).

Scarilt enough, I have all those. Fully agree about Due South, and that episode in particular is one of the greatest (I have it on video). Police Squad I found much funnier than Naked Gun - I think the premise was funnier in jus half hour segments

He probally used his father as a reference....err...for the part of the Mountie(his father was in the RCMP), not for the flatulent aspect(of course anything is possible). :P

You're right. Due South was a good show.

Damn shame the Mounties only wear their uniforms for inspections and ceremonies anymore.

For more Police Squad goodness click here.

That episode has everything you could want of a TV show: drama, romance, music, comedy, singing Mounties, farting...excellent stufff.

I loved "Police Squad." There's an old episode where they test the ballistics on a gun to see how many Barbara Walters interviews they could destroy with a single shot; still cracks me up!

So, is anyone going to be without TV after tonight? The cable company promises my old analog upstairs will still work properly; tomorrow we shall see.

I'll still have satelite, but no local channels. I've got a converter box for the set, but the signals are too weak. I think I need to buy a power booster.

I've blundered terribly: I watched the first episode of The Wire. There goes my social life...

Last night I was watching Man vs.Food, on the Travel Channel. Adam was in Seattle, WA at a place called Beth's Cafe. If I ever travel to Seattle, that's going to be one of my stops.

Also if y'all are in Pittsburgh, you gotta stop at Deluca's in the Strip. that place was also feature on a previous episode. The mixed grill is delicious, and the pancake sundae is the most decadent thing I've ever ate. Be warned though, on Saturdays, and Sundays you'll be waiting over an hour to get inside for breakfast.

So, has anyone else been getting into "FlashForward" this season? It's like "Lost," only without the desert island, and I don't find myself instantly hating every character on the show.

I've never really gotten into Prime Time TV on the big networks... and I'm usually fencing when it's on anyway, so moot point.

I have, however, started watching Numb3rs, and I really, really like it.

Right, dunno I've mentioned this show before, but I absolutely love Friday Night Lights. Season 2 was wank, but in Season 4 it's basically the best thing on TV.

Finally got into watching The Wire (epic) and The Sopranos (epic pants) so have been spending quite a lot of evenings in. 30 Rock had a great Christmas episode, but it's tailed off a bit since.

My friend suggested that to me and I watched some of it. I liked the way it was done, but I just found the pace really slow, and I sort of lost interest. Is it coming back, or has it been cancelled permanently, do you know?

I quite liked FlashForward, but got turned off when I found out it was going to be at least four seasons. Slow paced, I can hack (hell, I still think the best TV shew ever is the remarkably slow paced "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy") but having to wait four years to find out WTF is going on strikes me as a trifle unfair!

Also, there are a lot of really annoying people and subplots. I'm looking at you, Joseph Fiennes and you're annoying Sonya Walger wife. I appreciate that you're both British and thus feel the need to shew off, but damn just get back on the booze and blow shit up Joseph, and stop whining Sonya

The next episode does not air until March 18 in the United States. I have no idea when British TV will pick it up. Its ratings have been in decline, however, and it may not last past the first season.

That said, I have to agree with Cob: Joseph Fiennes' wife really gets on my nerves. She never smiles. I doubt she even knows how.
