I think that's pretty much every rational persons view: most aren't disbelievers in climate change, with the extent of mankinds influence being the aspect that is debated, with logical arguments on either side and no conclusive proof either way (indeed, it's pretty much unprovable - perhaps rendering it more faith in ones viewpoint than anything else). And of course, there are extremists on both sides - those who don't believe the climate is changing or can change, and those who believe that climate can't have changed without mans influence and that we're to blame for everything. Both groups are, by and large, morons.

My own view is that mankinds influence is probably very small - I just feel there are too many variables in what causes climate, including some that no-ones thought of yet, for the whole picture to be understood. Hell, even predicting the weather in anything more then a fortnights time is more black arts then science. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to reduce our reliance, as I said, there are plenty of other reasons why we should do so which no-one (sane) would argue against, such as the finity of fossil fuel resourses and the amusement caused when carpets once again become Saudi Arabia's primary export. But such will take a long time, and I do think will happen naturally as technology progresses. Plus, the worst case scenario of forcing reductions could be just as disastrous as the worst case scenario of not doing anything.

Another snarky blogger.

I never was fully on board the "Global Warming is 100% man-made and REAL" bandwagon. I'm not ready to jump aboard the "Global Warming is 100% FAKE" bandwagon either. It does occur to me that it would be a good thing is it is fake though. I don't want to live on a hot planet. Strangely, I get the impression that a lot of AGW true believers not only think it's real but actually hope it's real, for some perverse reason.

Probably because they're anti-capitalist neo-primitivists.

Something that always stuck in my craw: paleogeologists say that an "Ice Age" is any time that there is solid, permanent ice at the two poles. Therefore, we are currently in the middle of an ice age. The phrase ice age implies that it's a state that isn't nominal, which means the "proper" state of the planet is no ice on the poles. Therefore, isn't global warming just a return to the natural state of the planet?

Ed Begley Jr. blows his top on Fox News, and Mark Steyn trashes peer-reviewers.

Heh! Ed Begley's reality show is like a green version of the Anna Nicole Smith show. I only watch it for the train wreck aspect, and the fact that I figure one of these days Ed is going to push his wife too far, and she'll go absolute batshit insane on him.

Surely he'd be notably more green if, say, he didn't have all those cameras following his every move, plus the logistics that go into making a TV shew?

I hope so. I hate snow and cold.
