Time once again for our annual AO holiday tradition wherein we gripe about our families, brag about how much we're going to drink (or have already drank), talk presents and shopping, and make New Years resolutions we have no intention on keeping...where the Americans try vaguely to understand as Brits explain what the heck "Boxing Day" is supposed to be, and the Brits stare at us oddly for thinking that a special day devoted to extended-family infighting and making awful gluttons of ourselves is so great. In that vein, Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Happy Thankgiving y'all, or as those of us involed in the retail sector call it...the last day of sanity until New Years.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! We had a lot of good food and naturally I ate too much. I'm watching Texas vs. Texas A&M now and trying to stay awake. |

Happy Turkey Day everyone, hopefully you had a good one. Thanksgiving is the only time being an expatriate really sucks. Although it does mean I don't have to compete over food. |

I stopped doing the black friday thing after working retail. I felt way to bad for those who had to be there. I celebrated the day after thanksgiving in style, shooting my friends with paintballs! |

Merry Christmas AO! Just finished an exquisite Christmas dinner of pizza, candy and soda, and watched 17 Again with my family. Later on I might break into one of the many DVDs I got as gifts (I also got a month's worth of Coke and popcorn for the movie marathon) -- and my brother, who earlier stole my bed board for his own purposes, now promises to get me a new bed board for Christmas! All in all, a magical holiday experience one usually only sees in the movies. Relate yours for our enjoyment.
This sounds like fun too. I'll post something later this weekend. |

Pretty standard Christmas for us: Midnight Mass, turkey lunch, turkey sandwich dinner, despairing hunt for something watchable on TV (we've settled on an Orson Welles film that's on this evening). Unfortunately I had to do some work and it's back to shifts tomorrow for my mother so it'll be a fairly short holiday break, but still nice to be together as a family again. |

We have snow on Christmas for the first time in 20 years so I've been sledding. We had sandwiches for lunch. Turkey and dressing and all the fixins is tonight. Also sledding is much harder work than it was when I was a teenager. My arms and legs are sore and I don't remember that happening before.
