So, what are your thoughts? Is a bloodbath in store for the Democrats? Will Reid and Pelosi even have jobs when the dust settles? What effect will a Republican landslide have on Obama the next two years?

In my own state we have a hotly contested Senate Race, three retiring Congressmen, and a fourth Congressman who isn't a shoo-in to be re-elected. I can see the Senate seat and all four House seats going GOP.

It will be a bloodbath....here in WV, I see Mollahan getting re-elected. As of right now there is no opposition to the corupt SOB.

As to the effect on Barry? None whatsoever. At first I thought he was the second coming of Jimmy Carter, however its much worse.... He's the Second coming of Woodrow Wilson. Obama is so arrogant and sure of himself that I think He believes that only he knows what is right and everybody else is too stupid, so he'll ignore them.

Ain't it grand living in California, and knowing you're fucked no matter who wins?!

It might actually be worse than that: former Clusterfuck-- I mean "Governor," Jerry Brown is currently winning, because everyone's apparently forgotten just what a season in hell his last term in office was. Eight years of ditching the state to run for president, enacting draconian environmental reforms and appointing anti-death penalty judges. Meanwhile, the Republican, Meg Whitman (former CEO of eBay) is currently under assault by Tea Partier Steve Poizner, who hasn't a prayer at winning. I don't know who I'm voting for, but basically right now it's death before Brown.

Babs Boxer may be in trouble, depending how this whole health-care debacle turns out. Polls show her barely winning against Carly Fiorina or Tom Campbell.

I hate my congressman, but I'll have to wait and see who's running against him. If it's Nick Liebham again, I may vote for him instead.

EDIT: Who are you voting for, Felix?

RealClearPolitics' Senate Election Tracker

Also tracks gubernatorial and key House races. The "no toss-ups" Senate map currently has the GOP picking up seven seats, which would leave the Dems with a bare majority.

Kenny, you're in Bilbray's district? I just moved a few blocks south of there - now I'm in the 53rd district. I feel for you. I still get calls to participate in those "virtual town halls", in which I suppose he spends an hour bashing Mexicans, gays, and any other minority groups.

As an unabashed liberal, I think that Obama has not been a good president. He's arrogant when it comes to some aspects of politics, but at the slightest hint of real resistance, he goes timid. Watching him reverse course on every single LGBT-friendly campaign promise "'cause it's tough" (essentially) pissed me off. I really wish he'd go down to Congress and make them do something without waiting six months for public opinion to thrash about wildly depending on which six-second soundbite was dominating the media that day.

The election's going to suck for the Democrats, but I don't think it'll be as bad as it could have been. Scott Brown's election may have actually helped the Dems by providing an occasional Republican vote on their issues. I think the "Tea party" movement will split the anti-Dem vote in a few races and save the Dems' legislative majorities. Of course, all of this depends heavily on whether the health care bill passes and whether the jobs bills actually improve the economy by the end of the summer.

Harry Reid is a spineless wimp and I hope he loses his election - at the primary stage or to a Republican. I don't care; he's that bad. Nancy Pelosi isn't doing that bad a job in the House (unless one is of a conservative bent - then she's horrible) and she'll probably still be Speaker when the dust settles.

Oh Lord. I honestly don't know. In the Democratic Senate primary it's going to be Blanche Lincoln against our current Lt. Gov. Bill Halter. Halter is an opportunist hack with ties to the Clintons and I can't stand him. Lincoln will be in full triangulation mode. I used to like her but not so much any more. I suppose if I had to choose between the two it would be Lincoln.

In the Republican Senate primary it's my current Congressman John Boozman against, like, 100 others some of whom are outright nutjobs. I'd probably have to vote for Boozman.

In the Democratic Congressional primary it's a guy named David Whitaker running unopposed. I've never heard of him but according to his website he's a law professor at the UofA and an Air Force veteran.

In the Republican Congressional primary it's a guy named Steve Womack who is a local mayor and seems kinda sensible.....vs a bunch of wingnuts. As it stands I'd vote for Womack because the rest are either people I don't know anything about or they're just downright deranged.

I haven't decided which primary I'll vote in yet, so my decision is sort of up in the air. I'm not thrilled with my choices.

Well at least he's concerned about the devastating earthquake in Hawaii, which everyone else seems to be ignoring.

Yeah, ain't he the perfect douchebag? He's not even from North County; he carpetbagged to this district from Imperial Beach once the seat came open. I don't see him being defeated anytime soon, though. Whatever, I can vicariously celebrate when Reid and Specter are taken down this November, like they so richly deserve.

Specter might still pull this one out. Whether that's a good thing is another issue altogether.

I've been reading about Reid's vulnerability for years but I still don't have a grasp on this: how embarrassing for a) him b) his local party and c) his national party would it be if Reid lost? In the UK we don't really have an equivalent - party leaders are always put in "safe seats".

Nope. :donflib:

It doesn't look like Blanche Lincoln is having such a hot time either. With open season having been declared on seemingly all career politicians this year, Arkansas doesn't want to miss out on all the action.

McCain might have better luck, but he's had to sell his soul just to do it.

It doesn't matter if Lincoln or Halter wins that runoff, either of them will lose to Boozman in November.

Heck, I'd meant against *Toomey*. I actually prefer Sestak over Specter if only because he seems like less of a finger-in-the-wind politician. Plus, he's not 80 years old.

I'm actually (pleasantly) surprised by the PA-12 special. Now if only our two parties could actually stand for something of principle.

Yes, Critz's pro-gun, pro-life, anti-tax, anti-gay, seemingly anti-Obama agenda speaks well to his predecessor's regard for the voters of western Pennsylvania. Not to mention Obama's. Way to stick it to the Establishment, PA-12.

VA-11, my district, has an interesting race going between two Republicans and a Democrat. On the D-side, we have Gerry Connolly, who got into office in 2008 on Obama's coattails, and is likely to be driven out the same way. However, on the R-side, we have a real mud-slinging fest over which candidate wants to do the honors: the "establishment" Republican Pat Herrity, and the "Tea Partier" Keith Fimian.

So far I've been getting daily mailings from both candidates, Fimian accusing Herrity of lying about his voting record, and Herrity accusing Fimian of cheating on his taxes. About the only thing the two agree on is the Connolly is in bed with the Obama/Pelosi/Reid cabal seeking to drive our nation into ruin.

So I guess I have my choice between a liar, a crook, and a Democrat.
