(in another vain effort at resurrecting this topic...)

So, with three weeks left, is anyone willing to make predictions? I think it's obvious by now it's going to be a Republican House -- certainly 230 seats, but maybe as many as 250. In another week or so I'll run down the individual Senate seats and make a fool of myself there. (I was way off in '06 and '08, but honestly, I got the '02 elections right!)

I'll also add a silly predictions poll, if any of you are in the mood for more clicking.

I'm thinking 240ish in the House. I'm not sure the Senate will change hands, it's gonna be close.

New York is going to be interesting.

In the NY-CD1 – We had a three way primary for the Republican candidate against incumbent Tim Bishop. Randy Altschuler won. Bishop is trying to use some material from the primaries to bash him with allegations that at one time he favoured outsourcing. He clearly can’t argue the issues; he certainly can’t cling to Pelosi’s coattails, so he goes to random negative advertising. Still he is strangely beloved by children and veterans (for reasons that make no sense whatsoever) and can always count on the lemming vote. I’m giving it a 50/50 change which is the highest it has been to throw him out in years.

On the state level Prince Andrew Como, Knight (I mean attorney general) of New York is in a state of panic ever since Don Quixote (“I have a baseball bat”) businessman Carl Paladino won the primary after the party bosses failed to give the Republican seat to Rick (Laid Back) Lazio. Prince Andrew has no issues whatsoever, but fortunately there are plenty of ways to character assassinate Carl.

In the Senate, we have two relative unknowns going after both Chucky Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand. (Bride of Chucky) I’m sure their seats are secure, they bolted them to the floor before the Senate adjourned.

Wow, devastating attack ad. Or the trailer for an upcoming political thriller, I can't tell.

I haven't seen blipverts used that well since I first saw them on Max Headroom.

Now that was a show. My favorite part was how they used the old manual typewriters as keyboards. ;)

But now that you mention it; forget Orwell, Max Headroom should be the wake up call for what we might degrade into.

Democrats across the nation are pulverized; Europeans stop drinking tea (and performing testicular fellatio) in protest

They drink tea on the mainland? I thought it was only in the UK they drank tea.

The only news more shocking is something I read that said that there is going to be a bumper crop of grapes this year for English wine. (THEY MAKE WINE IN THE UK?)

After listening and reading the transcripts of the debates, and looking up information on both canidates, I've decided to support Governor Joe for Sheet's old seat. It turns out that Raese is another damned carpetbagger. We already have one of those in Rockefeller, WV doesn't need another one. Besides the local republican Paper also endorsed Manchin. They pointed out that becaue of his public proclaimations there is no way he can go back on then in D.C. If he does, the voters of WV can make him pay for it in 2 years. :)

For the congressional seat, I'll be voting for the Republican.

Ah, my voodoo magic seems to be finally working on you. :D Felix too, as I have my suspicions about how he's voting for Senate. <_<

Now I just have to work it on myself: I'm voting Libertarian for Congress.

English wine was common in the Middle Ages. It's only been in the past few centuries that the climate's been too cold for it. Oh wait, we're supposed to blame global warming for that, right?

In other news, Obama is now writing Republican campaign ads.

Caprio telling Obama to "shove it" is possibly the most awesome story of the entire election cycle.

But Sharron Angle's thank-you note to Joy Behar was pretty good too.
