(AP: Cape Canada, Fleurdelisia) After a large object crashed in the middle of South Jenstown, the Palentine Space Agency announced the successful testing of the Palentine's Lunar Catapult. The catapult is believed to be located somehere in the Central Oceanus Procellarum, between the Copernicus and Keplar craters. The Catapult uses powerful magnets, and semiconductors to rapidly launch its cargo in a earthward trajectory, with cordinates coming from a lunar and earthbound computers. The load normally uses rockets to slow down and correct its course. This first test did not contain the retro rockets as it was planned that the load was to land in the ocean. Palentine official sent an apology to the leader of South Jenstown, who was said to have responded,

"A lunar catapult? I approve of this concept, even if you did blow up part of my country...I did manage to turn it into a giant tourist trap, so some good came of it, I suppose!"

The catapult is part of the joint Palentine/Kennyite lunar base, although the funding and research behind this project was from the Palentine. The catapult will serve as an inexpensive method of transporting gems, and ores from the moon to earth. The Palentine's government has strongly denied and downplayed the idea that the lunar catapult also serves as a weapon of mass destruction, as it can just as easily be used to throw large rocks onto earth targets.
