APRES LA FIN DISCIPLINARY SYSTEM

Unofficial Warnings
A verbal warning or reminder by a member of the administration. Issued for slight offenses and questionable behavior that may just as well have been the result of an accident or a misinterpretation of rules. These warnings are logged for trend evaluation purposes, but have no negative impact on your record on their own.

Level 1 Warnings
Issued for minor offenses whose effects can be limited or eliminated simply by deletion of a single post or thread or discontinuation of the behavior in question. These will result in one raised warn level each. One warn level will be negated for every two months of good conduct. Members with warn levels above zero are barred from administration positions.
WARN LEVEL 0 --> 1: an official PMed warning from yours truly
WARN LEVEL 1 --> 2: all of the above; three-day suspension of posting rights
WARN LEVEL 2 --> 3: all of the above; one-week suspension of posting rights
WARN LEVEL 3 --> 4: all of the above; one-week banned followed by one-week suspension of posting rights; indefinite suspension of administrative potential
WARN LEVEL 4 --> 5: indefinite suspension of posting rights (negated only through appeal)

Level 2 Warnings
Issued for offenses of considerable consequence and/or deliberation. Three warn levels are issued for for every offense with a similar negation policy as Level 1 Warnings.
FIRST OFFENSE: one-week ban followed by one-week suspension of posting rights; indefinite suspension of administrative potential
SECOND CONSECUTIVE OFFENSE: IP ban (negated only through appeal)

Level 3 Warnings
Issued for attempted hacking, illegal activity, and other offenses compromising the overall quality and safety of the board. These will result in a permanent IP ban and naturally be difficult to appeal.

GENERAL GUIDLINES

The following guidelines are applicable throughout the board with a particular emphasis on out of character interactions. You may want to familiarize yourself with them in the event that you find your member rights compromised or decide to exploit a loophole. Rules are subject to be added, removed, or amended as seen fit by administration without prior notice. All rule changes will be announced in update threads in this forum.

* * *

1. On the subject of conduct; Play nice. For heaven's sake, I am a warden, not a babysitter.

2. On the subject of accounts; One account per person, one person per account. Do not attempt to create separate accounts for your characters.

3. On the subject of content; My city is free for all to wander. Keep the forums worksafe by linking out and providing a warning (preferably in the thread title or description) for any content of a sexual or intensely violent/gory/ideological nature. Any content deemed tasteless or unnecessarily vulgar by the administration may be removed without notice. Needless to say the promotion or redirection to illegal content will not be treated lightly.

4. On the subject of coherence; Type legibly.

5. On the subject of spam and self-promotion; The administration defines spam as: a.) anything irrelevant to the context its posted in, b.) needless repetition, and c.) advertisement and self promotion. The latter category is acceptable only if restricted to member signatures or the Propaganda forum. See this thread for details on affiliation.

6. On the subject of theatrics and public sympathy; Requesting advice is perfectly acceptable but do not post for the sole purpose of garnering pity. I assure you, I find you all equally pitiful. Similarly, any incidents of harassment should be reported privately to the administration.

7. On the subject of avatars and signatures; A strict PG-13 limit is enforced on avatars and signatures. Your signature size (including text) may not exceed a total of 600x400 pixels.

8. On the subject of staff relations; You are not required to like the administration. You need only tolerate them politely.

9. On the subject of bans, warnings, and appeals; Any appeals against an administrative decision should be privately discussed with myself, The Warden (ApresLaFin@live.com). Your presentation will play a key role in my final decision on the matter which, once made, cannot be overturned.

IN CHARACTER GUIDELINES

The following guidelines apply specifically to the roleplay itself. They address both the formatting and content of in character posts. Rules are subject to be added, removed, or amended as seen fit by administration without prior notice. All rule changes will be announced in update threads in this forum.

* * *

1. On the subject of control; Your control lies with your own character(s). There is a broad distinction between character speculation and godmoding or powerplaying. Similarly, you should try to be a good sport and allow others the limelight every now and again.

2. On the subject of content; Except in the Questionable forum, your roleplay may not include explicit (detailed) descriptions of sexual activity, intense violence or gore, or self harm. Substance abuse and ideological material falls into a bit of a gray zone given the nature of the roleplay. When in doubt use the Questionable forum.

3. On the subject of length and quality; The administration will not be enforcing a word or paragraph count, though you may be contacted if your post lengths are consistently far below the community's average. My primary concern is your ability to write in a way that is clear, interesting, of appropriate length, proactive, and facilitative of a response.

4. On the subject of format; Roleplay replies are to written in the third person past tense with no post decoration or emoticons. You are to observe the rules of English spelling and grammar. Avoid including OOC snippets in roleplay posts.

5. On the subject of character death; In character deaths must receive clearance from the administration. See the Character Death section below for details.

6. On the subject of OOC-acquired information; Under no circumstances are you to include or refer to information learned from OOC discussion until your character somehow learns of it in the roleplay.

7. On the subject of involvement; Each character may be included in up to ?? (private or public) active roleplays at any one time. Roleplays are considered active until they have been officially terminated or ended. Ended roleplays should be edited to read 'ENDED' in their thread description to be recognized as such.
