Me, mom and Ryan headed off to see the doctor this morning, rountine appointment just to take a look at us and discuss some things. Mom seems fine, they think Ryan's stomach is going to be somewhat easy to upset for his entire life but as long as his muscle aches are gone and we're able to control it to a certain extent by watching what he eats, we shouldn't have to do anything besides keep giving him his medicine. I got the stupid little wart thing frozen off my head. Naturally, mother wanted to discuss with the doctor her concerns about my bowels. Not going into detail there but the verdict is, nothing is going to happen for like 30 more years. But when that time comes, if I haven't bothered to do anything about it, I'm at increased risk for getting colon cancer. It's not an easy fix to do anything about either- added to that, he said that because I'm 17 years old and barely weigh 100 pounds, if I go in to see someone about it, they're automatically going to assume that the cause of the problem is an eating disorder until proven otherwise. So the decision is mine to make. Ryan got upset and started crying whereupon we had to reassure him that nothing was going to happen and that I wasn't going to die. He's okay now but it wasn't much fun.

On a more light-hearted note, today was the day Ryan demonstrated to me that he was mature enough for us to have the first in a long series of very important talks. These conversations are very important to a child's development, and we should never feel awkward talking to children about these very important and perfectly normal subjects. While the explanation I gave him was highly simplified and non-explicit, I feel this is a step in the right direction.
Scene: We are watching a video we took at the anime con of the Ouran Q&A panel. The Hikaru and Kaoru cosplayers (the twin brothers who act like they have romantic feelings for each other to please the fangirls, for those who don't watch the show) were asked a question about "pitching and catching". Now at the time, I just kind of told Ryan not to ask, but obviously since we were watching the video, the subject came up again.
Ryan: *giving me a look*
Me:"You're going to ask, aren't you?"
Ryan:"No. I think I kinda already know what it means."
Me:*rather surprised*"Really? What does it mean?"
Ryan:"... *clearly embarrassed and attempting to backpedal* I don't know."
Me:"Come on, what's it mean?"
Ryan:"I don't know."
Me:"Come on, you can tell me."
Ryan:"I don't know."
Me:"Well what's your best guess?"
Ryan:"I don't know."
Me:"Just tell me."
Ryan:"... *gives up and mutters* Like one of them is kinda the more 'man' one..."
Me:"Yes! That's exactly what it means. And the other one is more of the girly one."
Ryan:"Yeah."
Me:"As long as we're having this talk... that's also what 'seme' and 'uke' means, that word you keep seeing me use in reference to Dylly, and he calls me 'seme', which is the manly one."
Ryan: *"Oooooh I get it" expression* "Okay."
Me:"Just remember to never say those words in front of your mo-..."
Ryan:"I know."
Smart boy.
Children, nor anyone, should never feel uncomfortable discussing sex if they are going to grow up emotionally mature and have a healthy attitude about sex.

I hope you are able to address whatever the health issue is in the future Suzu. I do understand not addressing it at present.

Congratulations Jordan on becoming a member.

There is nothing like food to make you feel miserable. I am glad you had an otherwise good day though. My day was good, I found a problem on a site that took an hour or so to address and I finally added a new section to one of my websites thus increasing my workload further. All on a day when I am overtired and yet I feel like I had a good day so I cannot complain.

Thanks, Well, that's good, even though you're overly tired, but you can always take a nap, I'll probably be on here REALLY late tonight. Lol.

I have always enjoyed sleeping in. What is the point of having a day off if you cannot use it to take some extra time to enjoy being in bed for awhile. If I am wrong about this, why do so many people have televisions in their bedrooms?
