Bruce that is going to give me nightmares! *covers her eyes and ears for effect*
Well sickness must be in the air because I had to run to the docs for a sinus and respiratory infections. On an antibiotic and need to go back on Thursday for a check up and might have to go back again Monday by the time this is all said and done. I'm pretty much off school til next week.

What? It was just a cute little kiddies story about a lamb. You didn't think Fluffy~Wuffles was adorbs?

*sighs and sticks a thermometer in Lyssa's mouth* It's the Lounge, there are worse places we could stick it. I hope you are feeling better soon as well.

Fluffy~Wuffles is a classic!

Worse... or better? :D

I was somewhat skeptical when I discovered a murky bottle of mango tangerine juice in the fridge, having not tried this combination before however I can now attest that it is the bomb. Feels awesome on my throat. Now that I'm older I know there is probably some kind of health concern but since young childhood I have wished for them to invent something similar to the spit-sucking tubes they use at the dentist to suck the excess mucus from your nose when you're sick. Maybe the problem is deciding whether to call it the Booger Sucker or the SnotVac? Either way. I eagerly await when I can take more medicine...

I know right? I think it will replace Bambi. Maybe now we can finally get rid of Rupert Bear. I was thinking if they ever make a film version it would make a great tag on for the next Saw movie.

I think that depends upon which member of the Lounge you ask.

Mango tangerine juice sounds delicious. SnaughtSucker3 ? It could be packaged with the Mucus Mop. You would probably pay $49.95 for the SnotVac alone but wait! Order your SnotVac today and we will include the Mucus Mop. a $14.95 value, free of charge! All this for the low, low price of only $29.95!

I hope my reply finds you self medicated. It will make more sense and you will ask fewer questions that way. Just sit back and enjoy this pretty music.

It is another 30 minutes until I can take more medicine however nevertheless I find the combination of illness, lack of sleep and stress is starting to make my mind drift and the pretty music, which I am actively listening to, is only heightening this effect.

Bambi is over-rated. Did you know that the large, expressive eyes seen on Bambi and other early Disney characters were the inspiration for the trend of anime characters having enormous eyes? They should make Fluffy~Wuffles toys. In standard form it looks like a happy little stuffed lamb but if you undo some velcro straps and fold him inside out, he's a delicious little lamb roast! It's two toys for the price of one. We should go into marketing.

Fair enough. Maybe I should create a survey expressly for this purpose :D

Honestly, I'd buy it. There are two many situations where mucus mop would come in handy.

That song had to be written for me. Add "People Are Strange" to it and you have the story of my life. Minus the drug habit. With my mind I do not need drugs. I used a version of the song from the album so there would be no video to distract but if you have seen the video from the movie or better still, have watched the movie, like the boy in the video for that song I have had a lifelong affinity for rodents and almost died as a child. When I was three years old I had two childhood illnesses together which seems to have been my first encounter with delirium and altered states of mind. But "The Wall" in many ways is something of a guy thing so you may not have seen it. I do not know if that childhood illness was the trigger for how my mind works or if it is natural for me and my mind would have worked this way regardless but I count myself lucky to have this added dimension.
Back in the early months of 1993 I had one of my bouts with pneumonia. The house I lived in at that time had a hall that ran from, on the back side of the house, my bedroom door, past the bathroom which was the width of the bathtubs length, to the kitchen entrance for a distance of about twelve feet. When I would force myself to get up to get a hot drink or dinner, it would take me twenty minutes to get from my bedroom to the kitchen and when I got there I would have to sit on the stool we kept at the kitchen entrance to recover from my exhaustion. Still it was not an unpleasant experience as I spent most of my day in bed and in some state of delirium. While in the comfort of my bed I would start a simple thought and follow it; say for example I thought, "I should have a sandwich." I would then picture myself getting up and making a sandwich and deciding what kind of sandwich I wanted to make. It would seem to me to be perhaps twenty seconds to think this thought but in fact hours would pass whilst I was in thought. Not only was my state of mind altered by delirium but seemingly time was altered along with it. It was much like being in a constant contemplative state which is a nice place to be.

Much prog rock is quite good at heightening that effect, I am especially fond of the Moody Blues and Pink Floyd for this effect although a couple of notable exceptions are Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album and Bob Dylan's, John Wesley Harding although they are more storey driven.

I believe those paintings of wide eyed children from the sixties were also an influence. I was fortunate to grow up in a time when I was surrounded by art although much of it was bad art. Someday I must share with you my ideas for my teddy bear club and my stuffed toy Roadkill Rabbit. Fluffy~Wuffles could easily be added to the line of toys. I love marketing.

Yes, the Lounge needs that survey. I'm proud of us both for refraining from referring to it as a poll.

I know, do you know how many times I have exclaimed, "Darn mucus membranes"? Sadly, not a joke.

This just in: http://www.scarymommy.com/gender-son-in-princess-dress-acceptance/?utm_content=buffer11723&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

The week had a busy start for me, I will catch up with mail and everything soon.

It is my suspicion that drugs would only turn our minds normal. That sounds like an odd experience indeed, Bruce.

Really, people? I see the other members jump at the chance to take care of the lounge whilst I take time off for illness and bloodshed. The poor thing looks half-starved! *feeds lounge some weiners*

It has been deserted in it's hour of need, hasn't it? Like you I was here periodically to check on it but had no energy to post. For a raft of reasons I did not sleep much last week so I was going around half dead all day then would doze for an hour or two in the evening. I hope you are feeling better Alora and I hope everyone else is in good health as well.

Normal would be an abnormal state for our minds dear, this would probably be true of all our members. I have been drunk and I have been stoned and I have found both to be counterproductive. It may be worse for me due to my condition but I can only dedicate my time to one main project, socializing or working. I believe that creative people will be creative without mind altering substances. That is not to say I do not drink when I work, as an artist my habit is to work at night when I am at my most creative so in past it was not unusual after some hours of work on my art to have a drink or two while working to help me wind down but I am talking about getting stoned or drunk, not relaxing and winding down. Anyone who thinks having a drink is the same as getting drunk is an altered state virgin, deluded or has a substance abuse problem. Drugs are a different matter because there is a huge difference between smoking a joint and doing crack. Grass is a lot more powerful than it used to be as well, kind of scary, really.

True, we had been discussing music written about a bad trip and many would say the album, then the movie later made from the album were about the effects of one mans drug use but I would say it is more so about the effects of our childhood on our later development and the effect of war. In this case the loss of his father in world war 2. Believe it or not, people used to be surprised to hear of a connection between childhood and later life. Unimaginative people still are. Many thought war was good too. It stimulates the economy, the population and the imagination. Yeah, right. How fortunate my family is that my father was one of those who survived the North Atlantic convoys during that war. My family was equally blessed to escape The Halifax Explosion. Both, in fact. Yes, war is good. So they say. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's haters attack him for wanting to legalize pot and work towards peace. I say it takes a very small closed mind to support former Prime Minister Harper and his policies. Some might say, a normal mind. This from someone who had been a card carrying member of the conservative party and who thinks Pierre Trudeau (Justin's father) was one of Canada's worst Prime Ministers. What has the current Prime Minister Trudeau done wrong? Let's see, according to his haters he has tried to keep his campaign promises so far, started the process of peace and begun rebuilding our relationship with the United States. We all make mistakes when we are new to a job, don't we?

What were we talking about? Oh yes, drugs and war. Funny how it all connects, isn't it? We were speaking about these things in the context of creativity and art (music and film), maybe Prime Minister Trudeau will turn truly evil and also support the arts. Small minds fear the arts.

I'm sorry for deserting you all. I was too sick to do much posting but I did check in from time to time to see if anything was new. I'm feeling better now for the most part and able to go to school. I have a lot of classes canceled this week so I'm very happy for the light course load so I have a bit more time to recuperate. Hope all is well with everyone.

We always think of car accidents as involving other motor vehicles but I wonder how many accidents occur each year where the other vehicle is someone's home? Have you ever wonder just how fast an F1 car really is? How about this for speed? This is how Mercedes released the first view of their 2016 F1 CAR.
(It's safe to look Allie, no dicks, I promise)
:$ Dicktaters. hehehe

AND YES, TRUMP IS A WORLD CLASS DICK.

Dicktaters sounds like someone getting an order horribly wrong at Mary Brown's Chicken.

Because this is the best place for talking of silly things my dear, it is a hangout for silly people. Or a hangout where intelligent people can relax and be silly.

Hi Allie, how have you been?
It takes an intelligent mind to do silly properly.
Are you on March break?

I added a new post to the Lounges mainpage, page 1. Hopefully it helps make a better first impression for people just discovering this wonderful hangout.

Ugh, I just found out Easter is this weekend so I am taking the night off to make some arts for the Challenge. I do not know what I'll be doing yet but if you are a DA member look for prizes of free art this weekend. More details as I invent them. You kids take good care of the Lounge while Alora and I are away.

Hi Mia, thanks for letting me know, I thought my computer was going to die yesterday. I have given up on the expectation of them ever building a reliable computer although my computer will be six years old in a couple of months so I really cannot complain about its reliability. Tell Alora I will try to keep an eye on things while she is absent and pass on my hope that everyone has a pleasant and reflective Easter.

As you all know, I love me some cherry blossoms. Because I do. I love my cherry blossoms long time. So here is everything you ever wanted to know about Sakura Heads up: when the Japanese hold their dragonfly festival you will be getting notes on that as well.

Here in Nova Scotia we celebrate the Apple Blossom Festival. Apple blossoms being equally beautiful.

So I'm applying for CalArts Summer Program again this year. I got in last year too, but I think this would be a good opportunity to add something to my portfolio. Anyway, I'm wondering I could get some help. I'm looking at the artist statement I did last year. Would it be weird if I just used the same one? I switched some words around I cut some stuff out, but I dunno if I should change it completely anyway? I was supposed to write about why my art form is important to me. Can you guys tell me if I should change anything (I'm applying for the Animation classes by the way)?

Art is something that has been with me since I can remember. I don’t think I realized I enjoyed it until around 5th grade. It’s just something I’ve always done. Now I know creating is something I want to do with my life. I admire comic books, animated films and cartoon shows. Bringing life to an entire world that never existed before is exciting to me! Art has a purpose, and that is to connect. When people look at art, they can see something of themselves or the world around them.
Getting into animation is a big dream for me. I love the idea of people working together, writing, drawing, designing, and bringing that all together to make stories. Stories that make people’s childhoods just like mine. I want to be a part of that and become a storyboard artist. I want to create something that people can look back on fondly and make them happy. If the images and tales that are so deeply rooted into my being ever have any kind of significance to anyone, I would be extensively proud.

Mia, generally speaking, people do not change. We grow, we evolve but our basic person rarely changes. I look back at when I was three and four years of age and I see that while I have learned to better tolerate crappy food, I am still that same person only taller. If you are happy with how your artists statement portrays you, I would not change it. Update it if you see any way to help it but do not change it just for change. The only change I see that you should make is the second last word. I would use 'immensely', second choice, 'extremely' or 'exceedingly'. Also you could alter it to something like, "...I would be very proud of a life fulfilled." Aside from that one word, it reads well to me.
