Members of our community here are never far from my thoughts and always in my prayers Jordan. I hope college is going well for you. A lot of people go nowhere with their lives either through laziness, or dullness of mind, you are someone who can do most things you choose to do with your life. Never stop looking at your options and don't get sidetracked by boys. Trust me, they aren't worth it. Date, have fun but try not to get serious.

The Sea of Other Peoples Stupidity, don't I hate sailing there fighting your way through the waves of vulgarity. Yet it is my misfortune to live in an important port city. Have you ever read "The Phantom Tollbooth"? If not, I recommend it.

Since I take after my father, I think Colin would have to be the pater familias. Also my sense of humour is more in line with his. Interesting, I have problems with my left ear as well. Just in case it ever comes up, unsupervised 11 year old boys and firecrackers are not a good mix. No matter how intelligent or mature for their age they are. What does Bruce actually sound like? Another interesting question. It varies by day, moment, emotion, sentence and sometimes word. When I still had a voice I could not sing well but I could cover this as I had a considerable range, just not in the range I wanted. I like da blues. When I could sing at all my voice was best suited to banal crap. Why is that relevant? Because now that my voice is shot, even with my much reduced range, I have some range but little control so my voice is all over the place regardless of where I want it. People have hung up when I answer the phone because when I don't use my voices for awhile, I tend to croak when I begin talking. All I can say is you shouldn't be calling me if you expect a normal person to answer the phone. I live alone, normal doesn't live here. Never did.

I spent some time in Gulfport back when you were still either a baby or a spermatozoa. I was on a trip looking for supplies of shellfish and spent some time in the region. I even got to see Missouri. I remember going through the Boston area by interstate on the way home during the morning commute, we made that trip in my full size Chevy van. It had snowed lightly and we went up one long, curving hill in a four wheel drift at 65 m.p.h. and I just looked over at my companion saying, "I can just picture the people behind us looking at our license plate and saying, 'Crazy Canadians!' " After that I got to see almost every state a few years later when I was travelling the U.S. by tractor trailer for a vacation. We made a few trips to the South including one to Texas, within spitting distance of the Mexican border. You just never know where I'm going to turn up, I love road trips.

Okay, that is the gayest pirate we ever had in the Lounge and this is where we saw Dylly in tights polishing his sword. Their sound reminds me of the Plain White T's and I suspect both groups have spent time listening to Django. I have also posted something by Django if curious. Try the sites search box. An interesting group, I'll have to check more of their videos, I only had time for two so far. Do you recall me recommending you read "Keep The Giraffes Burning"? It just seems appropriate to recall that at this time. A good find by Ryan.

Added note on my voice. The best description I can think of is: when working within normal parameters I would sound most like old Spock. Perhaps not surprising when one time while walking through a mall with a friend I noticed someone point at me and say to his friend, "Look, Mr. Spock." I was of course flattered, who wouldn't be but nonetheless surprised so I asked my friend if there was a similarity. She replied the there was indeed a similarity in appearance, hairstyle and mannerism. You learn something new every day. That was in the eighties, I have since changed my hairstyle, the 'real' Spock never did. Point for Bruce Spock.

What an amazing Super Bowl game it was. The Atlanta Falcons trounced the New England Patriots in the first half of the game 28 to 3. Not giving up, Quarterback Tom Brady came through with bullet-like passes to his receivers.
In the second half, the Patriots came back from a 25 point deficit and tied the game, the first in Super Bowl history. In overtime, the Patriots won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball. In sudden death, New England scored a touchdown and won their 5th Super Bowl victory with a score of 34 to 28. It was the largest comeback that any team has had in Super Bowl history.
The game might have been different if Atlanta had won the coin toss, or if Wisconsin's Green Bay Packers had defeated Atlanta in the prior week. (Being from Wisconsin, I'm a Packers fan, but New England has a champion team. :D )

Actually, I read The Phantom Tollbooth as required reading for my 6th grade mail-in school course. I likely would have enjoyed it more were I not being forced to read it but the charm was still there.

My left ear has never fully recovered from when it popped a few years ago, which is most evident when using headphones or when someone is trying (and generally failing) to say something and be heard while standing on my left side. I've since developed a habit of awkwardly leaning/rotating the right side of my body toward whoever is talking to me which looks weird if you don't know what I'm doing. If it makes you feel any better, I never could sing, and my voice continues to be a bit strange sounding into adulthood. Silly Bruce, you think normal lives at my house? The obese cat that occasionally roams the yard might qualify but otherwise, you're out of luck if normal is what you're looking for.

Spitting distance of the Mexican border, eh? Have you ever been to Laredo, Texas? They make good tacos there if you don't mind getting shanked. Actually, that statement mostly applies to the south as a whole these days, with some variations depending on exactly where you are. "It's alright if you don't mind": A)The fact that everyone is a racist bigot, B)That the weather here is schizophrenic, C) That for the most part unless you are in a large city, everything looks like crap, D) The people who live here that you would not normally believe could exist - I have a blood relative who has been married five times and once lived with a goat (to whom he was not married).

Really, Spock is a wonderful person to be compared to, when you get right down to it. I have a T-shirt with his face on it. Nimoy Spock of course, not whoever this new yahoo is.

I hope all is going well on your end this day. Little worth reporting from where I'm sitting.

This is not the worst link I ever posted, ask Suzu but before you click it, you should ask yourself how strong your stomach is. :D Twit Link

Alora, normal is overrated. If normal is so good, why does everyone want to be special? I don't recall being to Laredo but I believe we passed close by, I seem to recall seeing the signs. We spent a weekend in Brownsville. We cut across the dessert on the way back so I actually got warm for once. Surprisingly we didn't get any Mexican food until we got to California. Not the first goat story I've heard and here in Nova Scotia we call that Goler Mountain. Actually I liked the South. Finding the dog near where we were camping was slightly distressing but only momentarily.

Yes, a person could do worse than being compared to Spock. As a child my two hero's were Holmes and Spock. Normally I can remember Buddywhatsisname but it's been a bad name week thusfar. Have you noticed that nobody remembers the name of the new guy that plays Kirk? I'm hoping the pathetic new movie series does a Dallas and Spock wakes up to realize it was all a bad dream. Then they can do a proper reboot, hopefully starting with Best Destiny as they should have this time. Even my brother who has always tried to convince me I was wrong & the new movies were a great idea has lost hope and now agrees they need to dump the franchise. My stand all along but of course I go uncredited. I knew Abrams was a mistake from the beginning. I hoped I was wrong but I gave that up when I saw the first movie.

I think I am doing okay, time shall tell. Quiet is good, I hope you are still writing.

I know a lot of people who could be called "special", but I don't think it's quite in the way they intend. I'm not a big fan of Mexican food generally speaking but you'll certainly find a lot of it in California. I actually may have seen that story before or read about a similar one, I don't distinctly remember as it was an article in some printed 'zine but horrifying nonetheless. Was it an unpleasant dog or something?

Now that you mention it, despite seeing his name multiple times I have no idea what it is, so I believe that proves your point. While that would be a step in the right direction I will never be convinced that you can bring back the original story lines without Nimoy and it's too late now.

Sporadically. The only thing I have written recently was fanfiction. Geeky as ever but it keeps one occupied.

Yes, unfortunately I know and meet far too many "special" people. I've never had "real" Mexican food but I like American-Mexican. I forget where we were but we went to a Mexican restaurant in a mall and surprisingly the food was delicious; probably Tex-Mex.
The dog was a dead Rottweiler laying in a rather large, deep puddle in the trail. We had left the main road to camp on an old dirt road that had been closed but was still used by locals for getting around the neighbourhood. The possibilities appeared to be that someone was wandering around with a gun or someone had purposely gone out and shot either their dog or a neighbours dog, I wasn't keen on any of the scenarios I came up with. Interestingly Wikipedia says about Rottweilers, "...and which is exceptionally well suited to being a companion..." "This breed is all about balance... (and) intelligence..." Too bad the same can not be said for many Rottweiler owners.

They missed their best chance but it could be done. Since the book is focused on the characters in their youth you wouldn't need the original cast but I would strongly recommend avoiding the mistake Abrams made and involve Shatner with the project. If they could find some clips of Nimoy and work them into the movie intelligently it would almost ensure the usual loyalty of Trekkies for the project.

Take advantage of this time to yourself to work on your writing, you have a definite talent and I look forward to seeing you published.

I have an intense dislike of beans and tortillas, so trying most Mexican cuisine is a crapshoot for me. Either option is thoroughly plausible, shooting dogs that are on your property (or just because you're an ass) is not unheard of here. There is big, fat, fuzzy brown dog that enjoys standing at the end of our driveway and staring at us. He seems friendly though and never causes any trouble.

This is possible, but I doubt they would be that intelligent about it if they did attempt it.

Hi Dylly! *huggles* Happy Internet Friends Day!

Nothing is set in stone, but I may be participating in a local (relatively speaking) craft sales event sometime in March. Wish me luck. I'll need to step up my jewelry game in the meantime.

Hello everybody, belated internet friends day wishes to all. We are having our second snowstorm of the week. I am not certain if this one will be another blizzard but there is a fairly good snowfall already so it looks like another snow day for any students. The plows seem more active tonight but I still expect a lot of businesses to be closed tomorrow. Everyone has always known you are special Dylly.

Alora, how can you not like beans? I love grains so tortillas are good by me as well. Good luck with your craft show. With a couple of exceptions I found smaller local shows put on by groups like the Legion or community malls to be better than big shows. I collected names of these shows & convinced some crafters I worked with to go with me & they were all amazed at the results. I usually made as much or more at these shows that cost me $25 or so to enter as I did at large shows I paid over $200 to enter.

How much longer do you have in nursing school Jordan? That is a good plan, you can always progress in the medical field but it's less strain if you make some money while you take time to see where you want to go with it.

Well, I'm not actually in the program yet because I'm doing my prerequisites, but the program isn't that long. This is my second semester. I have college bonds already. So I don't really have to worry about money. But they're still growing in money, so my dad said he'd pay for my college if he needs to.

Prerequisites are pesky but you are still studying what you need to complete your course. Don't forget that old advice, keep your eye on the goal. I'm glad you have your finances in place, it makes college life a lot easier when you do not have to work or worry about finances.

Happy made up holiday day everybody. It's nice to see we have a consensus on this new miracle holiday as Canada and indeed all of North America1 come together in unity to celebrate #LouisRielDay #FamilyDay #IslanderDay #HeritageDay #PresidentsDay. Here in Nova Scotia heritage day has a long heritage going back one whole year celebrating such things as not working and no longer being a force in the global economy because we can't get off our collective arse to do an honest days work.

1 Excluding Mexico and Central America of course who do not seem to be celebrating anything today. So just Canada and the United States really, with only Canada apparently confused about what it is actually celebrating today.

So much for good intentions or making plans, new blog entry: HERE.
This is big news in my world, I included lots of links, use them.

Hi Mia, I am trying to rest with a cold so I can get back into things this week. I would hate to lose momentum now that I finally have it working for me again. How have you been doing? Are you keeping up with your art now that you are working?

Because beans taste like mushy regret. I do hope you feel better soon, Bruce. I just got over a cold myself.

*puts party hat on Bruce* Thank you, it was a decent birthday. My husband just had his a week previously as well.

This morning shortly after waking we heard incoherent screeching coming from outside, which was odd because we don't live that close to any family members at this point. The obese cat I mentioned before was apparently having a shouting match with another cat I've never seen, just staring each other down on the lawn. I attempted to cheer the fat one but sadly, he lost the ensuing fight and laid whining in the grass for some time before wandering away. It is a testament to how boring it is out here that I just stood at the door watching this for longer than I care to admit. We were roughly in the projected path of severe weather last night, thankfully it missed us for the most part but one neighbor (a term used loosely here) posted a picture of a canoe stuck in a tree and I've heard several buildings were damaged not incredibly far away. I believe the coming spring is shaping up to be a stormy one.

T:"Will you unlock the car, please?"
Me:"Sure babe."
T:"What babe?"
Me:"The babe with the power."
T:"What power?"
Me:"The power of voodoo."
T:"Who do?"
Me:"You do!"
T:"Do what?"
Me:"Remind me of the babe."
*cue silly grins*

Suzu,
It is a good thing that you didn't try to break up the two cats screeching at each other. You could have gotten hurt if one cat turned on you thinking that you were interfering. My mother did that once when I was holding a new little kitten on my shoulder, and her cat was attacking my leg to get rid of the intruder. Her cat bit her on the hand, which got infected and swollen. I was bleeding with scratches all the way up my leg. I had to go to the hospital to get a Tetnuss shot from a nurse right in my butt. :$

Dylan, Where are you when I need you?
Your birthday is soon upon us. I need to know your waist size in cm. ^o)

Hi, Dale. That stinks about the cats.

I hope you're feeling better, Bruce. I worry when we don't hear from you.

Everything is horrible, especially people, and I don't like them (lounge members excluded). Please send prayers our way. I can't go into detail here but we need them. My husband is sick, we got three inches of snow four days after it had been 83 degrees in between two tornado warnings, and my uncle set our yard on fire*. (And that's just the stuff I CAN talk about here)

Dear Suzu,
I said a little prayer for you and your husband. I hope you both get help soon. The snow will melt soon. We got 12 inches the same day as you, and then it froze like ice. We are hoping for warm weather, so I don't sprain my back shoveling. Car is still buried. No trees fell, so we didn't lose power like some.

I got inworld tonight & we don't have a virtual BL anymore but we do have a hangout the owner lets us use. I'm using a browser Bruce put in so I got to remember to log out. I can't use links tho so I don't know what made you happy Suzu. I did read your spoiler tho & that's amazing, I'm so glad all you lost was a shed.

Happy Birthday Mia & Suzu, sorry I couldn't be here.

Bruce is ok, he was feeling better so he was working hard trying to catch up. for a week or ten days he thinks he had a cold cuz he got tired again so he either worked hard or slept. He says he still feels good so he's hoping it's a cold or something & not his chronic fatigue back again. LOL pretty bad when being tired out with a cold is feeling good. :D

Dale, sorry I haven't been around more but besides being busy, technical problems make it hard for me to get here. I'm around a 75 cm waist but somethings I buy for my hip size. You know I like most things kind of loose & sometimes mens stuff is made a size large & sometimes a size small so I usually get a 30 or 32. Most mens clothing in Canada aren't metric sizes. For womens I usually wear 8/10. It's all about the hips. I know that sounds confusing but nobody said fashion or looking Fab was easy XD

Gotta go to bed but I hope to get back here soon. have fun & see you later.

And yes I'm awful grateful that I don't have to worry about college expensive.
Dylan and Dale, I miss ya.
And Bruce again, yeah I'm having some allergy mess going on too.
