Well, the first two days or so were iffy- but we seem to have had a quick turnaround here. We're eating, drinking, wrestling and using our litter box.

Little baby girls~ http://imgur.com/a/k4BP1

Grey kitty- Sasha. Orange kitty- Yuffie ("yoo-fee" a la the Final Fantasy character)

Next step is going to the vet to check for worms. Hopefully we'll have that done in short order so they can be either cleared or given medication, as they are not very keen on the tub they're staying in and want to run around the house.

Hi, just popping in to say "hi." So "Hi." I check almost every day and every day an old post is showing here so I did not know anyone had been around. Found out tonight after checking regardless. Looks like I missed you by a half an hour Alora. The kittens are adorable but that may very well be the only variety of kitten available. I have had two ginger cats, both were great personalities. Just a quick update since I hope to get to bed 'early' tonight. I am either feeling better but not doing better or doing better but not feeling better. I will let you know if I ever find out which it is. To be honest in the last day I have been suspecting that I may be recovering from my old ailment but it is being replaced by a new one. I hope to have more time to catch up soon.

Hi, just popping in because, well: anuses. And no, for once this topic has nothing to do with horses, just worms. I was reading about one of my favourite topics, crows/ravens when I found this and instantly knew I had to share it and who I had to share it with. I am not on facebook and Twitter would not appreciate it. Only the B.L. Lounge could do this justice. What would it take to make you a compulsive tooth brusher? How about this: Anus Mouth Worms?

Anuses?

*wonders, has Bruce been hiding in my bedroom again?*

He better not have been writing philosophical quotes on our underwear like last time.

Oh! It's a worm with an anus-mouth!

I totally thought...

Bruce, it has come to my attention that you are constantly ill. Perhaps it would be more prudent for us to design you some kind of bubble-like fortress from where you can command an army of minions to do your bidding? Failing that, perhaps we could equip you with a flamethrower to instantly sterilize those pesky germs? The latter option would of course carry the *unfortunate* side effect of also incinerating any germ-covered person you aimed it at, but sometimes sacrifices must be made. Just think about it.

quickly stashes his reed pen and indelible ink behind his back

I shall give the matter much thought as I like both options however I am leaning toward the flamethrower at present.
Henceforth my battlecry shall be, "Unleash the anus-mouth worms!"

Anus Worms are about as bad a leaches.
My brother and a couple of friends decided to ride a rubber raft down the Black River not far from us. This was not a great idea. The Black River has a 30-foot falls 3 miles down stream. If one survived that fall, the next drop is the 165-foot Manitou Falls in Pattison Park, the largest water fall in the state. From there, the river flows into a larger river and then into Lake Superior.
https://www.travelwisconsin.com/natural-attractions-and-parks/big-manitou-falls-200316

As the boys were rafting, there found fallen trees and brush in the river, so they had to get out and carry the raft over the logs. When they emerged from the river, they were covered in black leaches. It was a scene much like in the movie, "Stand by Me," where the 4 boys waded through a swamp and came out covered in leaches. :$ Check this movie clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4jg8o9wXys

That ended my brother's river rafting.

*steps out of shower- reaches for underpants*

... Huh?

*examines crotch of underpants*

"It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers."

Darn it, Bruce!

I personally thought that was the best choice. It would also come in handy should the anus-mouth worms ever rebel and attack you.

I'm not quite sure how exactly the kittens manage to get globs of food on the very tops of their heads within approximately three seconds of me sitting down the food dish. I do know that giving them too many baths in quick succession could dry out their skin, which means I simply have to wipe off said globs with a rag when they occur. It is very entertaining to use this opportunity to sculpt a kitty mohawk.

My family home was on lakefront property, the lake has black leeches; I was never a fan. Also I never liked that scene in Stand By Me. Overall however the movie was much better than the short story it was based upon. Although the book was one of the few Stephen King books I like. Usually his books are not good to begin with or he takes a decent story and ruins it.

What?!

You know, if you knew calligraphy I am thinking Etsy moment.

It is a remarkable talent kittens are born with, the ability to stand on their head in a food dish faster than the human eye can follow. Kittens also can rock a Mohawk.

I hope any swimming that you do this summer is in clean lakes or in pools. May you be free of any blood-sucking leeches or worms. Have a happy experience!

It is visible in Canada, sharp and clear. How can you sound like me if it does not sound dirty?

Suzu,
It's time to let the kittens out of the tub. They will come back to use the sand box. They like to dig in sand to cover their poop.

I suppose I'll simply have to refine my Tom Waits impression. Good to know, apparently the library Wi-Fi connection has no trouble uploading to YouTube. This opens up many possibilities...

Fret not Dale, just in the short time between now and when that video was shot we have had to surrender the bathroom to the fluffernuggets. Until we have determined if they are carrying any parasites I'm not comfortable letting them have full run of the house as they will be all over the couches in a heart beat and our bed sits in the floor with no frame. Unfortunate consequences of being raised in a germaphobic household: I am fully aware that in order to catch any of said parasites, I would likely have to either lick the kittens or make a habit of eating my lunch in the litter box, but some quarantine is still necessary if you don't want to watch me scrubbing down my house with bleach while crying.

I think the first time we speak I shall have to use my smarmy voice. Oh my gosh, what a shock if you ever get to hear me speak in person. I write with one brain and speak with another. I usually have what at least I think is a normal voice because it is usually warmed up before I converse with people. You rarely get to hear me croak. I only speak in the same manner that I write when I am deep in thought. Most times I speak in the manner of a normal person and at times my cursing could make a sailor blush. I pride myself on having a well rounded vocabulary.

I did attempt a phone call some weeks ago which failed to connect. I'm unsure if your phone situation is still wonk or if the error is on my end. Should I counter your smarmy voice with my southern lady voice? It's completely fabricated but most of the locals accept it- the trick is not visibly cringing while saying "y'all". Interesting, I have a similar manner of speaking when I am not screwing it up- I'll casually drop words like "anthropomorphic" and then flub "spoon", which prompts a strange and disjointed string of curses.

Yuffie is wrestling and licking my sock while purring. This would be cuter if I was not on the toilet.

Advantage II for small cats works best for any fleas on cats. You can get this online.
The Vet can give you a prescription that goes on the cat's neck with one application to kill any internal parasites if present.

Just popped in to post this link for any aspiring writers or people who may enjoy reading, particularly short stories: Interview with the Author

I am uncertain which number you have. In addition to the problems I mentioned, if you call the 475 number you have 2 seconds to respond to "Hello" before I assume you are a telemarketing device connecting me to a live scumbag and hang up. If it is my cell, nobody ever calls on that so I tend to forget it home, leave it in pockets when I return home if I did not forget it therefore ensuring the person hangs up before I can find the damn phone. Of course dahling, I'd be flattered I'm sure. Git yer hillbilly on good an I jist maht tell yah my faverit Sutherrn U.S. Story. Turns out my old nickname of "hillbilly" may have been more accurate than I thought. Although for a much different reason.

Dale, do you still have cats?

Hello Jordan, I was wondering where you were. I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Yes, that's the one I called. The chances of getting you on your cell sounded so thoroughly slim I didn't bother to attempt it. Ah, southern US stories, did I ever tell you about my cousin who lived with the goat? I also went outside to check the mail yesterday and scared a deer who had presumably been munching on the lawn.

Alas, the vet is going to have to wait at least another few days and the bathroom is simply getting too hot. I suppose we're just going to have to be as hygienic as possible and hope for the best. Commence the kittening...

Do you like my new scarf?

(The irony is not lost on me that immediately after emphasizing being careful of germs, there is a kitten directly under my face. This is about how things usually go.)

Suzu,
You should get a lot of enjoyment watching the two kittens play together. Thank goodness that you have two, otherwise, you'd have to play with the one yourself all the time. Kittens have so much energy.
I have 4. With the weather so hot (90 degrees), they are all sleeping. B-)

July 24,
What a difference a day makes. Now, it is 59 degree out and raining. :X

Geezer,
Would you find out what's happened to Dylan?
I'm worried.

Love the scarf.

Dylan is fine. Busy but fine.

I think he has devoted himself to study but I shan't say to which fields of interest. And galavanting about in skirts of course.

Sorry for the brevity, I have been feeling good today but it was a long day with a lot of catching up to do with too little sleep. I hope it will be a relatively early night tonight.

Does the university offer "male anatomy" as a course? If so I can hazard a guess as to what has him occupied.

Wait until you see the next video, I should hopefully get to the library on Monday or Tuesday. I don't want to know what attempting to upload to YouTube would do to my data so I'll have to wait for Wi-Fi. Glad to hear you were feeling better today Bruce :)

It's very interesting to watch the little personalities develop. Sasha is very affectionate and wants lots of human contact, she's constantly climbing into my lap with no prompting and lately has been sitting under my neck or on the back of my shoulders. Yuffie is more solitary and will wander off to play or sleep alone more often but will let you know when she wants affection by screaming. That's another difference, Sasha almost never makes a peep, Yuffie will meow for three reasons- "Feed me!", "Pet me!" and "You woke me up, you insolent bastard!". It's also less a meow and more of a "Mreh-eh-eh-eh!". Kind of like a tiny dolphin on helium.
