So I'm sitting here on the couch, and I think to myself, "it's awfully quiet in here...", which is rather suspicious in a two-kitten household. I naturally went to investigate and found this. It has always been a dream of mine that someday the furries and the Shriners could live in peace, this is a joy to hear. Now if only we could hold a joint event for the lepers and the bronies. I think it should be considered cruel and unusual punishment to have to leave the house in winter, I can only imagine how much worse it must be in Canada. Although on the flip side I hear your snow plows are boss, if you are forced to leave the warmth of your home. |

Suzu, Very cute picture of your cats. That is award winning. Keep the toilet cover down or they'll be playing in there next. |

Thanks Dale. We learned that lesson, they've both jumped into the toilet before. Speaking of which, tonight is bath night- they're gonna love that, let me tell you. They're getting so darn big it's a two person job. T wears oven mitts on his hands to avoid getting scratched. Since the chaos that was our moving here finally died down near the beginning of this year we've been slowly working on decorating the house. Today I'm hoping to make some headway on my bead curtain projects, they're going in the kitchen doorway and the living room windows. The bathroom has a panel of light bulb sockets above the mirror that we filled with colored LED bulbs in a rainbow sequence. I'm wondering if it would be feasible to eventually theme the whole bathroom in a similar fashion so that bigoted visitors will be forced to deal with how fabulous it is whenever they have to pee. Thoughts, anyone? |

Just a thought on scratches. Have you got a cat sissors? It has a little notch it it? I cut our cat's nails about once a month - more in the winter when they can't go outside. The color scheme in the bathroom would be great around Christmas. |

I do not get out much now Dale however your list got me to look look up the ghost of Alexander Keith, said to haunt his brewery. I found this article PSICAN Hauntings and decided I finally had a vehicle to set the record straight. I sent them the following e-mail: Dear Sirs, This story was started in the mid 1980's by two bored craftsmen working a craft market held at the brewery. I cannot speak on the other ghost(s) rumoured to haunt Keith's Brewery but I do know the origins of the story of Alexander Keith's ghost. Somewhere between twenty and thirty years ago I read an article on the story of this haunting and its history, the legend, blah, blah blah. I laughed all the way through the article knowing where and when the story truly originated. It is not an aged legend steeped in history, it was a conversation between two craftsmen to alleviate the boredom of a very slow craft market held in Keith's Brewery Market. No doubt this is why my search turned up almost nothing on the internet. The short answer to your question is, I was one of the two craftsmen. Regards, Bruce. Interestingly or not, the other craftman's name was also Dale. Cute photo Alora, so the kittens decided to get the jump on you for bath night? Halifax is a magical place where miracles happen but I rather doubt that even in Halifax could you realize your dream. I have to question if even lepers would want to associate with bronies. Winter in Halifax is of course, winter. That having been said, Halifax and much of mainland Nova Scotia is in one of the warmer micro-climates in Canada. New Brunswick which used to be the ugly part of Nova Scotia gets much winterier winters than us. Similar to winter in Quebec which is of course famous for its winter carnival. Our plows do a good job keeping roads clear however we do get storms we are not prepared for which can leave us scrambling for days to catch up with. I think it was two years ago we were supposed to get flurries (not furries) or a light snowfall and a surprise blizzard dumped 37 feet, 26 and 35/64 inches of snow on us in 98 seconds. These figures may represent a mild exaggeration but that is what it felt like when we looked outside the next morning. I love colour and light, I have always been enthralled by neon and was lucky to grow up during the end of the neon era. I seldom get to work with light however one flat I rented had been painted in cheap, bright paint. Before I moved in it was painted over. I could tell the living room had been painted bright slime green as they did not get complete coverage when they painted the walls grey, a thin pinstripe effect of green remained where the walls met the ceiling. I stood a painting I purchased of two white futuristic buildings against a black night sky on my easel, hung black curtains with a white dolphin motif and red pinstripe on the picture window and added a blacklight I had from years back. The blacklight would of course light up the buildings and the dolphins but the coolest part was how it lit the green pinstripe bordering the ceiling. I would sit there and listen to music for a couple of hours after work enjoying the ambiance of the light coming out of the dark. Perhaps you can use that idea for your ceiling. What I would love to do is use a strand of light like they use on the bottom of cars under the rim of the toilet so the bowl glows purple when they lift the lid. Of course this cannot be done but what do you think about having a bulb under the tank and high behind the bowl so it cannot be seen but makes the toilet glow when you walk in? General rule of thumb, use three colours. A primary, a secondary and an accent. If you use many colours, they should usually be blended or else it can be too busy. Rule number three: An artist always breaks the rules. A room should never feel like it is assaulting you. If you do my grey room look I recommend painting the ghost of Alexander Keith on one wall. Preferably the wall beside the toilet so people feel he is watching them do their business. On that note, bonne nuit. |

You always do. Perhaps, if only there was such a thing as a kitten washing machine. You never know, Bruce, the world is a strange place- mayhap it would even result in a leper-brony hybrid. They'd make a bizarre, semi-pornographic comic book series and everything. Yeesh. I don't expect we'll get much snow this year. Every year as soon as someone says "snow", the grocery stores are picked clean of things like milk, eggs and bread, the essentials you know, only for us to get all of an inch of snow. Of course if you live on a rural road or other tricky area (like my mother does, for instance) it only takes a small amount of snow to screw your week right up. I've not heard about the winter carnival but I am an ignorant southerner and the most interesting thing to do here in winter is place bets on which propane company will not hang up on you. Which reminds me that we need to check the tank. You know, that's not a bad idea at all. I quite like it, actually, although I think it would work better in the bedroom than the bathroom (the ceiling of which we were coincidentally thinking of painting a bright color like slime green- we are going for something contrasting as we were planning to paint the actual walls red-pink/burgundy color). I'll have to see if Wal-mart sells blacklights. Also funny you should mention purple and toilets, you know that stuff that makes your toilet water blue? I've always wished for that to come in purple. Does that make me strange? While I'm not much of a hand at artistic painting I did find a picture of dear Mr. Keith that I could totally see printing out and hanging in a regal frame. I think I'll also attempt to convince guests that the bathroom is haunted. I could see glow-in-the-dark paint playing some role here... My mother is undergoing a severe worker shortage in her senior care business (namely, it now consists of her and my brother), so I'm going in tomorrow to work a morning shift and be updated on the client's needs and trained accordingly, if all goes well I'll then sign back on and work at least two 24 hour shifts a week, which will be more than enough to cover the cost of gas. Previously I was only qualified for night shift, which was more trouble than it was worth and severely impractical for T's work schedule. Hopefully this will work out. Napping buddies Nom nom nom Opinions? Edited by Suzu, Oct 21 2017, 04:01 PM.

I am imagining a leprony gothic novel in black and white because of course it is so dark and edgy. The characters would be so repulsive and putrid as to be almost as horrific as watching My Little Pony FiM. I don't even want to think about the semi-lepro-porn. An inch of snow is all you need to mess things up if there are no snowplows or snow tires to be had. I could find only one of my photos, no loss there but here are a couple of snow days from March: https://twitter.com/Images_By_Bruce/status/842358935445221381 https://twitter.com/Pat_wx/status/841776673557254144 https://twitter.com/weathernetwork/status/833000676879958016 https://twitter.com/weathernetwork/status/832669724903370752 A bedroom like that could be nice, I was single so I spent more time in the living room. You have a toilet in your bedroom? I am having trouble thinking of something so for now the best idea I have is a cheap red towel in a lingerie laundry bag, the dollar store usually has both items. If it is anything like the cheap reddish towels here it should turn your water red. If the water in your toilet is blue you should get some tint of purple. Or you could try injecting some red food dye into the bottle of blue toilet dye. I still see black lights around occasionally but I cannot remember where. I like the haunted bathroom idea. I hope work went well and you are getting some shifts in now. The kittens are getting big. Sasha and Yuffie are now turning up in my youtube recommendations. Lovepunk or Steamcraft. I made a belt that would have gone with that when I was at the Market in Kieth's Brewery. My suggestion would be Etsy so you can find the people who would want that style. You are looking at a niche market so you have to be where they are looking and market accordingly. We had a shop do well locally under the name Junk and Foibles. I use the name The Eclectric Company, what do you think of "Eclectera"? https://twitter.com/Nivea__mc/status/922411660630949889 Edited by Geezer, Oct 23 2017, 03:07 PM.

Happy Halloween, If you see me on the trail on Halloween, I'll be wearing a disguise such as this. It's cold here, 32F (0C), with 80% chance of snow. You may not recognize me, I'll also have on a black leather vest.It is quite a distance between houses, so I'll be riding my horse. Dale Edited by Dale, Nov 2 2017, 10:51 PM.

Sparkle No-Limbs inhaled sharply as Miracle Necrodasher let his trousers fall to the floor. A beautific starburst of rainbow glitter fluttered through the air around his magnificent, partially decaying shaft, like a guiding beacon reaching out to her very soul. She thought of all the countless ponies that had no doubt taken it in before, and suddenly felt nervous. What if it had been larger then? She questioned if she could take it as it was now. A shiver went up her spine, causing her flowing mane to shake back and forth in the pale moonlight... Sheesh. I don't think I'll have much to complain about if we get any snow this year after seeing that. There is not a toilet in the bathroom although the two rooms are in such close proximity there may as well be. Work is going well so far, in fact the only difficulty whatsoever is the boredom. Washing the cats is literally more difficult. I have no idea what some people are complaining about. I rather like "Eclectera" although my autocorrect filter hates it. I wish I had more time and something to write on other than this dinky little phone. Happy Halloween everyone, I hope all is well. |

We should go caroling ![]() xD No, wrong old person. I wish he was, though. That reminds me of the other night. Ryan wanted me to try his new vape flavor (non-nicotine- mom agreed to let him have a vape pen to perfect his robotic mime, sleight of hand, steam-from-the-mouth trick) and got frustrated at my inability to figure out how to turn the pen on. After a few moments he took it from me, shoved it in my face and said "Stick this in your mouth and suck!". Giggles ensued. |
