Someone recently asked me, what was my worst sports memory as a fan. For second place, it was the recent playoffs where the Leafs qualified for the first time in about 7 years. They have to face a heavily favoured Boston Bruins team. The Leafs manage to bring it to a final game 7 in which they lead 4-1 before collapsing in the last few minutes and losing 5-4 in the final. However, being able to say they did well and that it was a good season dulls that one somewhat.

The worst for me is easily the Dutch losing to Spain in the final of the World Cup. I'm not sure why it is, but that was the first time a match had made me feel a bit ill. Part of it is the fact that the Dutch are one of the greatest teams ever to never win the cup.

What are yours?

Brett Favre joining the Minnesota Vikings was a bit of a low point. For those who don't follow American football, Brett Favre was the most valuable asset of the Green Bay Packers. He announced his retirement in 2008 . . . before returning to play for the New York Jets that same year. When that didn't pan out, he joined the Minnesota Vikings, our rival team, before finally retiring in 2011. It sounds pretty goofy, but a lot of people here were pretty pissed for a while.

Watching Liverpool hand Man City the title this year after a disaster in the 3rd and 2nd last games of the season and end up losing out by 2 points.
Although that is nothing compared to my worst moment while playing a sport.

Hey at least the Packers have won a superbowl, and the vikings didn't during that time frame.
