Soooo, my relatively small murderous bastard I mean cat, has just brought a live pigeon into the house!

I really want to know how on earth he managed to get such a big bird kicking and screaming through the cat flap and onto the landing...

We've let the bird out now, but it was bleeding everywhere and will probably die off. The cat's trailing blood around and pawing at various exits.

*sighs*

The joys of cat ownership....Anyone else ever had a cat like this?

He's also brought bats, baby birds, and a nest full of eggs into the house. (He even dismantled the eggs onto my mum's bedroom carpet.)

I know. :(

It kept trying to get in my car, so my mum collected it up in a basket and drove up the road to where there's some trees and (hopefully) no cats. It seems alright to say it was just mauled, but it wouldn't get out of the basket so my mum left it there. :D

Oh goodness my cat does this all the time. They see you as the alpha male and want to impress you, so they bring back "meals" or demonstrations of loyalty.

My cat (who is a female, btw) mauls animals frequently. Usually she kills them in the grass and eats them (small voles, mice, birds, etc) but occasionally she gets bigger animals. She once mauled a rabbit nearly as big as her, dragged its dying body onto the patio, broke its neck, and then gouged its insides open and brought a lot of its meat to the door. It was disgusting - there were freaking intestines strewn out of its body. But also really cool :P

Oh and also, she's a badass. I heard some fighting outside once at night (she sleeps outside, usually), and I went outdoors to find her engaged in full-on combat with a raccoon a little bigger than her. I didn't want to try and get in the middle right away because I'm A) a wimp and B) afraid of rabies :P so I had to watch painfully while I figured out if kicking the raccoon was my best course of action... but by the time I figured out what I was going to do, my cat had demolished the raccoon. It was lying bleeding and dying on the patio. She walked away... so I had to kill it and bury it, ugh.

See, this is why I have dogs.

When they kill rabbits in the garden, not infrequently, at least it's clean and not messy.

Intriguing stories about cats, though. Did any Brits here (assuming there are any) catch the Horizon program about cats this week?

Ok wow. I'm really glad mine hasn't done anything like that before...

There are so fields near me with rabbits in, I guess this is something I need to watch for lol. He can't be any more than 2 years old (he's a stray so his exact age is unknown) so I don't think he's quite at his best yet... :( Although there are a couple of horses in the nearest field, hopefully they put him off a bit.

There's a couple of us about.

*Waves*

I saw the related article on the BBC website, but not the programme. Was it any good?
